The internet was out for nearly a week while I was there and when I inquired with the staff they really didn't seem to care.

bugs, mold, dirty. When the bug issue was brought to the managers attention he attributed it to the fact my friends were on their motorcycles. Can you believe that? That's the treatment you'll get if you chose to stay here. Forewarned bikers (especially during Sturgis!).

The first impression was not good. Staff was horrible, slow, looked like they never done it before. There were bugs on the walls and bathroom and the shower had mold. When we asked for a refund they said let me check and never came back only to find them smoking outside. This ruined our stay in the Black Hills. NEVER STAY HERE, STAY AWAY.

The absolute worst place I have ever stayed. Apparently they have new owners. The place is a run down dump. Looks like nothing has been maintained and is dirty and falling apart. Housekeeping finally came to "clean" the room at 5pm (new towels and sloppily making the beds....no other cleaning done). VERY short staffed and hard to find anyone that works there. Ran out of breakfast items in the morning and when asked the desk clerk (only employee that could be found) to re-stock, they stated "I'll get to it when I can." Lobby and breakfast area was also dirty and hot. Outside temps were in the 100's during our stay and they had no A/C on!! If you want to experience a truly memorable experience (but not the good kind), stay here. Otherwise stay away!!

My wife and I wanted a hotel that was not up on the interstate and walking distance from restaurants and bars. We also brought our dog and wanted a place that would accept pets and have nice places to walk with him. The front desk people were helpful to tell us about some great food places only blocks away. It is in a quieter part of town but not far from the main street, so it was ideal. It was harder to find that some of the hotels up on the highway, but it was quite peaceful during our stay. We had a nice room (room 28) and could park right in front of our room. We had a fridge and microwave in our room. They charge a pet fee of $10 per night, but they didn't give us a smoking room like most hotels do. Most other hotels in Spearfish don't take pets or wanted to put us in an inferior room. Our room was cleaned and we didn't see any of the problems mentioned by an earlier guest. It's under new ownership and the new owner has some good plans for it, so it will only get better!

room was disgusting. black mold in shower. soft spot in floor that I thought I would fall through. nails sticking out of bathroom door threshold. sink wouldn't drain, found chunks laying in bottom of hot tub and wall rotting behind it, manager slept in and was 20 minutes late opening lobby and breakfast at 7:oo am. worn out beds. all of this enjoyment for only $86.00. Only good thing was the desk clerk at check in was very nice and helpful. He should train the maintenance man and housekeepers.

Certainly not the greatest motel I have ever stayed in. It is in an out of the way location, not easy to find. The room was clean, but in need of some major repair. Very poor air conditioning system. Didn't have a chance to use the pool, but it looked very nice, although the hot tub was closed. The Breakfast was the best part of the stay.

This was a decent motel, nothing fancy, but we weren't looking for fancy. The staff was friendly and good to work with. The pool was nice. Service was good. The bath towels were small and pretty rough feeling, like sandpaper. I would probably stay there again if the rate was right, however I would consider bringing my own soft towels. We paid about $70/night. If this wasn't a tourist area, the motel would only be worth about $35-40/night.

Sheets and towels clean but a little more could be done on some surfaces in the room. staff friendly and room we had was quite large. Some refurbishing needs to be done on the outside but overall a good experience. Price was very good.

I LIKE QUITE SETTING AWAY FROM INTERSTATE. NICE COZY, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE ROOMS. GREAT FOR ONE NIGHT OR MORE FOR VACATION. WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN FOR SURE. INTERNET LOUNGE MADE FEEL LIKE I AM AT HOME, GREAT FOR MAP AND DIRECTION LOOKUPS.
