La Quinta Inn Bloomington - Normal, Bloomington

We were there for AAU Track so I loved the location. It is right off the highway and it was very close to Illinois State Univ. Lots and lots of eating places nearby (walking distance). The front desk staff was nice and friendly.The breakfast staff (Grandpa) not too friendly (but nice). They did not have the spray for the waffle maker which made it very difficult to make a waffte w/o a spray can. BUT he did get some liquid oil to put on the waffle waker which helped. Dispite that, the breakfst was good. The rooms were nice and clean. Not smelly like some other hotel/inns I've been in that were owned by natives. I would go back.

Friendly staff, but this hotel has all the bad features of a 2-star hotel: 1) management that doesn't understand that Americans drink coffee - not tea brewed from coffee grounds. 2) management that cuts cost by diluting the OJ to 1/3 the 'normal' strength. 3) because (I think ) i did not leave my room till 10am, when I returned in the evening, it had not been serviced by housekeeping (even though the housekeeper was in the room next door when I left. Staff very friendly about taking care of the housekeeping issue -- and very friendly in their NOT understanding that they need to fix the problem with the coffee. Sweet family who runs the place -- just a little naive about the 'little' things that would get them higher ratings and therefore more business. Clean rooms

Professional, friendly staff. Room was very cold and had a musty smell. Carpet felt damp, was shredded in one spot and wallpaper was peeling. Bathroom was too small and it was awkward to maneuver around in. Nice quality towels, but bathtub was filthy! We also found hairs within the bedding. Entire property is dark, dingy and worn.
