Hotel France Eiffel, Paris

Hotel is in very bad condition. Peeling walls, courtyard was so bad that we were afraid to go out in it. Elevator was tiny. My husband and one piece of luggage was all that would fit. I chose to climb the stairs to the fourth floor instead of getting on the rickety elevator. After an overnight flight from the states we REALLY wasnted a hot shower but no luck. ALL of the hot water was out in the building. I was told that they were hoping it would be fixed by the next morning. The hair dryer didnt work. The bathroom was so small that you had to turn sideways to sit on the toilet or else your elbows were on the sink top. This is no exageration! They ended up moving us to another hotel due to a leak in our ceiling. The rain started so we decided to nap and try to get over the jet lag. We were woken to water hitting us in the head while in the bed. Once moved, we had an amazing trip to Paris and felt much safer as well.

I was there in 11/2005. My room, was small- 1 person it was fine had another person gone with me it would have been cramped. The garden area was not opened. Although the weather was not that bad- it would have been nice to sit out in the garden. Breakfast is served at 7am. Don't go to the loby prior to...you won't be allowed in the dining room until it is completely set up. The room, clean. Bring your own hair dryer..the shower stall- if you are tall or plus size- its tight, as is the elevator

The Location is fine - close to the Eiffel Tower and all, but not that wonderful either - the tower looks close, but it is still quite a walk to actually get there. In spite of what some other reviewer wrote, you CANNOT see the tower from ANY window. The rooms shown on their web page look quite spacious - not so. The rooms are tiny, cramped, not well furnished, well lighted, well maintained or particularly clean. Also, you can hear whatever is going on in the rooms around you. Not good. The staff are polite and helpful and the breakfast is ample and well presented. Overall, I wasn't extremely disappointed, but I wasn't delighted either - at the end of the day it's just a hotel room, eh?. Next time we'll find another place to say. Not for children, not for romance, not for business, certainly not for luxury. If you just want a room with a bed this may do. Don't go to the Eiffel France Hotel with high expectations. That's the truth.
