Will stay there again :-)
By ,
Location was perfect...off the beaten path and on the water. Staff very friendly and full of suggestions for dinning and recreation. Plenty of room on the property and many hammocks to relax on. The pool is heated. Rooms are mostly clean. I have made the suggestion that they professionally clean the carpets more often. You will need to remember your own supplies like coffee filters and paper towels if staying in a one bedrooms and want to make full use of their kitchenette--they supply the plates and silverware and cups. Also they provide a wonderful light breakfast in the breakfast room: cold cereal, fresh fruit, bagels, donuts, coffee, juice and tea. They are also very eco-friendly and provide recycle bins eco-conscious guests. Yahoo lists this place on Summerland Key, but it is actually on Little Torch Key.

Home base for a great vacation
By ,
We have returned many times. At parmer's Resort you can literally you can custom design your stay in this paradise. There is a selection of quiet rooms, apartments and efficiency apartments. Each has it's own name and character with a private sitting area just outside its door. They have more expensive, larger apartments that come with kitchen facilities and adjoining rooms including a private outdoor hot tub. We once stayed in a quiet room named "Shrimp" which was large enough to accomodate our every need while affording us the privacy, seclusion and quiet we were looking for. The cost of each is directly related to size and amenities desired. One year we brought our kayaks to explore the flora and fauna all around the area during the day while visiting Key West at night. That year we chose to stay in the very affordable "Shrimp" suite. I might add we experienced every luxury of the resort just as though we were in one of their more expensive suites. The staff accommodated our request to keep our kayaks on premises throughout our stay at no extra cost. During the day we explored the backwaters of the lower Key's, returned to our room in the late afternoon to plan our next days activites, rest and prepare for a lively evening just a short distance away in Key West. I can say we have not found a more comfortable and affordable place to stay so near to the nighttime excitment of Key West. At Parmer's Resort no matter which of their many suites we stayed we took advantage of the wonderful inground pool, beautiful views and the island atmosphere with out the big price tag found at many of the other resorts. Any time day or night we freely walked the premises, towards the waters edge where there are large tree-shaded hammocks to relax in or we sat beneath the thatched roof at one of the small pavilions next to the waters edge watching people boat to there days activities. Some nights if conditions were right we reclined and gently swung in a large hammock to view storm clouds far enough away we experienced the beautiful unique flashes of lightning behind large clouds sitting over the surface of the ocean off in the distance. On the mainland I have never experienced these types of unobstructed expansive views. If you desire more action there are many other experiences nearby. Just up the road is the award winning Bahia Honda State Park with its many beaches. It is yet another great location to visit, relax swim and kayak. You can visit nearby Big Pine Key's 8600 acre National Key Deer Refuge and see if you can spot a Key Deer which are minature subspecies of white-tailed deer that grow to be less than three feet tall at the shoulder, early morning or late afternoon are great viewing times. You can try to find No Name Pub not far from No Name Key and experience the tasty meals and see the interior where every inch of wall space is covered with patrons dollar bills to memorialize their visit to this well known establishment. I can't forget to mention that on Big Coppit Key the Geiger Key Smokehouse and its waterside tiki bar where the locals hangout, kick back and make an evening of it. On a certain night of the week they have live entertainment and on Sunday a barbeque that is both affordable and tasty. These places are all within a short distance of Parmer's Resort on Little Torch Key and if experienced will leave you with a one of a kind lower key experience that will allow you to create memories that will last a long time.

Our 2nd Home in the Summer :)
By ,
We have been coming to Parmers for the last 10+ years. The Rooms are VERY clean and offer everything you need. Just like a home away from home. My children are teenagers now and still LOVE coming back every year. We have brought friends over the years that now come on a regular bases. The staff is the best in the Key's and are alway's ready to help. We have never been disappointed. We love to fish and the fishing is great and the snorkeling on Looe Key is the best. MUST CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!

Simple Resort / Great Spot for fishing
By ,
I have stayed on both family and business entertaining trips. The place is pleasant and simple. Just right for a self-directed Keys vacation. Marina just across the highway, bar a short walk and excellent seafood market/resturant just up the street.

I can't wait to go back!
By ,
It was very nice, it had seperate 2 Room cabins with each one having the name of some rare or common native fish. There was also a decently sized pool along with a good atmosphere. There are exotic birds in large cages towards the waters edge, where there is a dock to tie up a rental boat or wave runner. The dinning area is also nice, it is a good size and I like the animals kept in the side room. I was amazed to look up and see a wood chuck in there while I was eating my breakfast. This is an overall good place, I can hardly wait to go back.

Superb Accomodations for Fishermen
By ,
Our family has stayed at Parmer's Resort approximately ten times over the years. Recently we have utilized the resort on three or four day fishing trips. The accomodations are so clean, quiet and relaxing. Great grounds, scenery and colorful birds. The staff is tremendously helpful and friendliest you'll find at any resort. The pool is a great place to relax after a days fishing or touring the various keys. A great breakfast is served starting at 7:00AM, but we were always fishing by that time. Parmer's is close to Route 1 and many great restaurants, e.g., Mangrove Mamma's, Big Pine Key restaurant, Boondocker's and the No Name Pub. There is also one located just down the road from Parmer's before you get to Route 1, but I have forgotten the name. We have found (after several years) that the best fishing we can recommend is with Knee Deep Charters located on Geiger Key (10.5 miles north of Key West. Captain Kevin is a fabulous captain and knows his fishing better than any other captain I have fished with in the Keys over the years. We always catch our limit of yellowtail snapper. This past May we also landed a 37 lb black grouper, and 5 nice dolphin fish (15-27 lbs). For more info just Google (Knee Deep Charters). We are in the planning stages of our 2007 trip back to Parmer's Resort and cannot wait to return!! R. Schmidt

A Slice of Heaven
By ,
My family and I have stayed at Parmer's the past two years and just returned home 4/18/06. In our opinion you will not find a better location to stay. Quiet, near Key West and the middle Keys. A short drive to see all the Key Deer you would like. Never had an issue during our visits. Dan and Christy Marron

Love it at Parmer's
By ,
we have a house in the same neighborhood, and needed to stay at Parmers because our plumbing was not hooked up. The staff was very accomadating. We love the exotic birds and breakfast that is served. We also enjoyed the yoga in the open air. We recommend it all the time .

We can't wait to go back!
By ,
What is not to like? The place is beautiful. The rooms are just like the pictures showed. Breakfast is very good, light and tasty. I loved the parrots. The location is secluded to the area but as close to Key West as I want to be. We will be going back next year!

Would go back again and again
By ,
This was a well laid-out resort - even though other people were there, they were not right on top of you. The location was excellent, off of US 1, so there wasn't any road noise. It was also within a reasonable distance of other (Middle and Lower) keys. It was extremely clean, the staff was friendly, and the view was great.
