Econo Lodge Inn and Suites Downtown, Rensselaer

I'll never go back there. As soon as we got into the room, we lifted the blanket and saw that the sheets were dirty. When we checked more closely, we found bedbugs that were alive on the mattress. When we went back to the front desk, the office girl said that it was impossible that there was bedbugs cause everything had been sprayed and she also claimed that she didn't have "the code" to give us a refund. Very bad experience.

this was the most greatest hotel in albany. the rooms were great i checked in on 11/12/09 the front desk clerk were very helpful and they were patient and the rooms were clean and tidy. i will stay here again in the future. i do recommend this hotel to other

Not only did they screw up our reservation (booked one room instead of the two rooms requested/paid for) but the two men at the front desk were rude about it and unable to accommodate us appropriately. Four of us ended up in one room that smelled like dirty diapers & mold. Two of us slept on the floor with dirty sheets because they didn't have any cots...even though there was only 4 cars in the parking lot and plenty of vacancy. I would have rather slept on a gutter next to a dumpster then at this place. Avoid highway robbery and stay far far away if at all possible.

We checked in on a Thursday evening and it was a warm night and decided to go for a swim. The attendent came out of the office and told us we did not sign some book that limited the hotels liability for swimmers and we had to get out of the pool. She then accused us of being drunk and we were troublemakers. She informed us that we had to pack and leave immediately as she was going to call the police. My girlfriend and I were swimming peacfully and not bothering a sole, being the only ones in the pool, and this person, Patty, seemed to have a serious attitude problem and had also stated that she was an owner/manager, (which was not true). A very bad experience!

This hotel / motel is AMAZING. It is affordable and a clean, friendly place to stay. They have sweet people at the desk and a lovely breakfast in the main building. I will stay here everytime we have to come to Albany and I have and will again recommend it to anyone who asks where to stay in the Albany area.
