Holiday Inn Select Orlando East (UCF), Orlando

had a long drive from the northeast to bring our daughter to move into new apt across from ucf..had to check in at 4 am and was treated well. beds were comfortable and room was clean. upon waking early am, my daughter and I (shared double bed) woke up to itching legs-bites.. and i had a huge bite on my arm. didnt think anything of it until next night same thing happened!! then as we were watching the news..they were discussing the infestation of bed bugs across the usa. i didnt want to alarm her as she has a bug phobia..but i did talk her into sleeping in her new apt the last night before we left as to not bring these gross creatures to her new apt. (I also killed a cockroach on the wall the second day there!!) the hotel is nice enough and seemed clean enough, but i do not think i can stay there again in the future..i sure hope this bed bug problem is taken care of quickly! almost do not want to stay at any hotel in the near future

I have been travelling on the road and crossing the Atlantic 2 or 3 times over the past few months as a professional photographer. My internal clock is so messed up right now I don't even have a time zone. I had a problem with the initial room but Hector fixed me up as fast as he could and I was able to get some real sleep. Thank you to all your staff, including Lindsey and the other girl that works night shift.

location is great for proximity to UCF functions...however, the odor that hit us as we exited the elevator on the third floor was extremely unpleasant. Did not explore other floors, but we held our noses from the elevator to the room! SAFETY ISSUE that concerned us more was the side exit door that was UNSECURED ENTRY, OPEN WITHOUT KEY ACCESS EVERY TIME we used that entry. We repeatedly pulled the door closed behind us, but the door did not automatically close. Did not feel welcomed or encouraged to return

This is one of the worst Holiday Inns I have stayed as a platinum member. Continental breakfast is only M-F, rarely ready on time and of far less quality than other area hotels. Continental breakfast is also only available for executive floor and consists of cold cereal, coffee & pastries- where other hotels in area have full hot breakfast for all guest. My laundry was lost twice and I was still billed full price with no concession offered for inconvenience. No contact by manager - hotel staff wants me rearrange my business schedule to address issues, something not feasible based on business needs. Other hotels are better, cheaper and have comparable or superior ammenities by comparison.

Front desk personell have no personlity. Websites say pool, hot tub and spa.... whops..NO HOT TUB...Oh, and that free breakfast.. it doesn't exist either. Internet connection is S l o w !

I stayed here based on other customer reviews. It was a big disappointment. The room was dirty- it looked like the maids hadn't cleaned behind the toilet or in the corners of the room in months. (Someone guy had obviously missed while aiming at the toilet) The decor: red bedspreads, blue carpet and green curtains. I felt like I was in a kids' playroom! The bar seemd to be a big hangout at night, and we could hear the noise out our window. Also, the outdoor lights were so bright in our window that it looked like daylight 24/7. My son will attend college nearby, but I will not stay at the Holiday Inn when I visit!

This hotel finished a total hotel fix up, and wow, it is now quite upscale, and for the price, it is the place to be when visiting UCF. Marble in the hotel, a large bar, and they have a jogging trail overlooking Lake Ebby. The bathrooms are nice and a good size. A little gem for sure! I reccommend this for sure.

Our son goes to UCF, therefore, this is pretty close to school and the rate$ is not bad either. The rate is very impressive comparing to other Hotels in Orlando... The service was pleasent, kind and knowledgeble

While relaxing in the hotel room after a busy day, the hall became very noisy with young teenagers. Then 4 young boys burst into our room invading our privacy due to the fact the hotel had double booked the room. This could have been a very embarrassing situation or if we were not in the room, something could have been stolen. At the time the boys had access to our room, it de-activated our keys not allowing us into our room. There was no manager on site (they go home after 5 pm). The personnel on duty offered to buy breakfast in the morning or offer us a movie (ha), but after some haggling 2 of our nights were compensated and we were put on the top floor, which is a weak security accessed floor by the elevator. This was a careless mistake by the staff that caused a large incovenience to us. Hope others can have a more secure stay.

Stayed here for a week during spring break and was impressed with the rate, room and friendliness of the staff. The breakfast buffet was reasonable ($7.95 per person) but both kids ate FREE. Used the pool and hot tub, they were fine. Maintenance came right up to fix a little problem we had. Was concerned about the distance from the theme parks, but would up pleased with the overall experience. Several eateries very close. The kids would have liked Cartoon Network on the TV, but that's the only downer.
