SOMETHING WENT BAD HERE
By CATE, 03/26/09
WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO THIS SPA FOR MANY YEARS WE HAVE NEVER EXPERENCED WHAT WE HAVE THIS TIME AND WE WILL NOT GO BACK EVER AGAIN. WE PAYED 159.00 A NITE. THE DAY USER PAYS 25.00 10 AM TO 7PM THATS GOOD. BUT AT 7PM IT'S $10.00. AND NOW IT'S NOT ANY DIFFERENCE THEN A PUBLIC POOL. . NOW YOUR CUTTING INTO OUR LEASURE TIME WE WANT TO EXPERENCE THE POOLS AND ALL OF ITS QUITENESS, IT'S SERENITY. BUT NO!!! OVER 25 NITE USERS ARE HAVING A GOOD TIME FOR $10.00 THEY MAKE $ 250 AT YOUR EXPENCE. THE MATTRESS ARE VERY HARD WE HAD BACK AND HIP PAIN AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. SO WE SAY DON'T STAY HERE THEY DO NOT REGARD THERE GUEST AS THER NUMBER ONE PRIORITY

New front desk employee poor customer service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/07
My family and I have been visiting your resort for the past 5 years and had absalutely no problems, but the past three times the front desk employees have been rude and talking with an attitude something that got me aggrevated to talk back to them. I felt no respect as guest at your resort and had to cancel my future stay at your hotel.

Relax into a puddle
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/07
Not for the fru fru set, there is no salon or room service. A utilitarian, no-nonsense health spa in the truest sense of the word. The rooms are a trip back to "Dirty Dancing" days but serve their purpsoe. When you're so relaxed your legs are liquid all you need is a bed and a fridge for some cool refreshment. When you come to, stroll down the quaint main street through town and window shop or drop in for some unique silver jewelry, then dinner at the Hydro Grill. You won't be sorry.

Great Escape
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/06
We did the mud/mineral treatments and really liked it. The rooms were clean & the staff were friendly/helpful. The hotel is one block from the restraunts, shops & grocery store. The pools were very relaxing, clean and enclosed by a privacy fence.I don't have enough space to write about the good experience we had here.

KID FRIENDLY ADULT INDUGLENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/06
Great location, you can walk anywhere in Calistoga. Many places to shop, eat, and drink, all close by. This is not the Ritz, it is wonderfully casual, rooms have fridge, microwaves, and are,JUST LARGE ENOUGH. Spa treatments are relaxing. I have gone to Calistoga hot springs spa for a day and for a week at a time. Years before I had a child, during the time my son was young and now with a teenager. Back to going without a child, at times."Its all alright."

Great Family Fun!
By Lorne, 08/25/05
My family has been going to this resort for several years now and it has always been a very good experience. The kids have a great time swimming in the pools. The adults can go shopping, dining and wine-tasting. They have 4 mineral pools: a kiddy-pool, a regular lap-pool, a medium sized heated pool, and a hot, jacuzzi-style, pool. They also have a small weight room for those interested in getting a workout. The area is a nice place to go jogging in the mornings. Also, they offer massages, which several of my family book in advance of our trip. The resort is just a block from the downtown, so you can go window shopping and have lunch within just a couple of minutes walk from the resort. Some of the rooms have a refrigerator and kitchenette so if you want to save money, you can walk down the street to the supermarket and pick up what you need to cook. Also, there are BBQ Grills and picnic tables outside some of the rooms. We have several of the family meet up there every year and we all BBQ and have a great time.

Great for families
By Julia, 08/11/05
We've been coming here for years and it is hands down the best resort in Calistoga. The 4 mineral pools are spread out and don't make you feel like everyone is on top of one another. The kids can run around from the kiddie pool (complete with waterfall) to the warm pool to the cold lap pool. The bungalo rooms come with kitchenettes which are great for feeding kids without having to go to restaurants. Overall, a very relazing family vacation.

CLEAN, FAMILY, RESORT, SPA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/05
The resort area is very clean. It is family oriented with many lounge chairs and tables/umbrellas. There is an inexpensive snack bar. They also allow you to bring your own food in and you can walk across he street to purchase food (high end market prices)but convienant. They have 4 nice sized mineral pools which is nice. And if you chose to be in an all adult atmosphere or mixed with kids you have that option too. The staff is very good about keeping those rules straight. We go on Mother's Day & it is very crowded with families. The spa area is very clean. The mud baths are very clean and the hostesses were very attentive. I find the mud to be clean and good temperature. I hear alot of people questioning how the mud can be clean, do they empty it all out etc? I guess I have never got sick from the mud so I assume it is clean. The other person with me had an unusal experience with her mud being warm and not hot enough. We had a 1 hour massage and I was happy with my massage. The small drawback is they openly note tipping is suggested. I think with the prices being they are on the high end that the gratuity should be included. I have looked at the other resort/spas in the area but they seem to be more "adult" than family.
