Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/11
We found this hotel online, and the pictures of the rooms online looked very nice and accomodating. When we arrived, the rooms looked nothing like the pictures online. They were dark, and the air smelled musty. There were flies in the room. The bathroom smelled like smoke and there was a big black stain on the bottom of the bathtub. We did move into a different room, but the second room was not much better than the first. We stayed for two days and left to make a flight; however, our flight was cancelled due to a hurricane. When I called back to make another reservation, the person who answered the phone told me I could not make a reservation over the phone. He was extremely rude and told me I had to show up in person and pay cash. I would highly recommend staying as far away from this hotel as possible!

Read Reviews & HEED the warnings
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/11
The WORST experience Ive EVER had during a stay at a hotel. Being a Ramada Inn we felt certain it would be clean...it wasnt, there were cobwebs in the corners, the airconditioners sounded like a pig being dragged behind a Hundia, above the corners of the roomwere mildew/mold spots, the bathroom ceiling was completely covered in black mold, we had a opening around our door wide enough to see outside, the hotel smelt like MOLD and mildew, we went to use the pool, while we came back to our poolside room for less than 4 minutes, a Guest Service Attendant had taken our belongings, was smoking our ciggarettes, and had stuffed our stuff in her pockets, and her Hotel smock...when we questioned why she was putting chairs up she said they were expecting a storm later on and it was protocal??? It hadnt even thundered or started to rain???They shut the pool down at 6pm and the rain came in at 9:15p,..then we had to request our belongings back, as the attendant did not even try to return our belongings, when we questioned her, she said "ohyea"...when we called the Front Desk Manager/GM the gentlemen pretending or acting as the GM he hung up on me, when I called back, he answered stating he was busy, what did I want...when I asked him about the Ramada Inn's policy and procedures, he responded stating he did not know Corporates Policies, and he'd have to ask the attendant that just tried to steal from us...when we tried to use our laptop to find another area hotel to stay at, we were unable to achieve a connection, when we called to ask if there was a special procedure to get internet connection, the GM again shouted out me, told me I was difficult and he refused to deal with me??? About 5 minutes later the GM showed up at our door threatening to call the Law if we didnt settle down??? when I requested a refund GM stated oh to bad for you...I WILL NEVER and WILL NOT EVER RECOMMEND this PROPERTY, if you want a nice clean mold free place to stay in Norfolk area, stay at the Holiday Inn, it is awesome, overall exceptional expereince, BUT the RAMADA INN and their employees are shameful to the Industry of Hospitality and Service. And also note: Someone stated it was a safe property, it sits right off the main highway entries and exits, had alot of riff raff going on outside and was not at all what Id call safe, for Gods sake you couldnt even trust their employees!!

I cant believe it !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/11
First and foremost, there is NO expectional customer service what so ever. The ones that did have it is gone. Wendy and Maria where the only ones that would provide you with the best service. I came last year for 5 days and I came back just because of Wendy and Marie. There is one nice young lady named Rina, I think thats her name. I spent over $1,000 and I will NEVER EVER come back again. The GM accusses everyone of lying, says he has no time when you ask him to fix something. Does HIS boss see this? Does his boss know that he is losing alot of money due to lack of service?? Housekeepers are RUDE. I wake up at 1030am everyday to cussing saying **** this and that. Looks like the brought the project girls to work here, I see now why my two favorite people left. The wallpapers are off the wall, mold and mildew everywhere. I found a pair of underwear inbetween my sheets the first night (housekeeping is NO good), dust EVERYWHERE. Looks like they just put the same sheets back on, vaccum, and wipe down a little. Im calling the BBB and Ramada Customer Support. They give Ramada a BAD rep.

VERY BAD SERVICE!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/11
I chose this hotel because I knew the name and it was a good price and close to the area I was visiting. Booking the room was quick and easy. We stayed there 3 nights and on the 3rd night our room was broken into while we were in the pool and $1500 worth of items were stolen. Long story short, the staff was rude and very unhelpful in this scary and stressful situation. The cameras didnt even cover our room! Talk about safety. The manage raised his voice at me when I calmly tried to tell him he needs better security because he mentioned this happened 2 weeks ago while the people were in the room! Very Very displeased with this service and will never be staying at ANY Ramada EVER again.

1 Word~ NASTY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/10
This was by far the worst Ramada Inn Ive ever spent 6 hrs at. Lobby smelt like mold and mildew. The walls showed serious signs of water damage. The gal at the desk was a smart mouth, the outside was dirty, the room was musty and the a/c heating unit rattled the entire 6 hrs we could tolerant the conditions. We arrived from a late flight from Seattle and upon checking in we're given a key card that wouldnt let us in. So we had to go back to the front desk thru rain and wind, to retrieve another hopefully working key card. To get moved to another room which we had to reload our luggage and move again. Six (6) hours of total discomfort. Sorry, I would not and can not recommend. NASTY

The health Department
By holly, 7/8/08
This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The first room the a/c didnt work, in the middle of the summer, and when i asked for them to look at it, it took 2 hours from them to come to the room. I was then moved to another room that was unfitt to stay in. The wall paper was rolling off the wall, the grout was missing from the bathroom floor, there was broken tile all over the bathroom floor, the carpet was wet and sticky, under the sink there was something that looked like throw up from an animal (maybe it was mold), every pc of furniture was broken in some way, the ceiling in the bathroom was falling, and the beds were missing all their sheets. The only good thing about this room was it had a brand new a/c unit in it. When I complained and asked to be moved to another room the manager tried to accuse me of dirtying this room and told me he wouldnt move me. When I told him I would take pictures and call the health board about it and then I wanted my money back he quickly switched me to another room. This time, I was put in a smoking (I do not smoke) king size bed room. I had my friend and my 1 yr old son with me. This room was clean but the tub didnt drain and the toilet wouldnt flush properly. I will never stay here again and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. There is a wonderful Holiday Inn across the street for $25 more a night and it is definatly worth the price for the safety and cleanliness.

stay at your own risk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/08
water damage, stained ceilings, stained carpets, stained blankets, stained chairseats, smoke alarm cover missing, dangling wires, coffee in coffeepot from previous guest, wallpaper peeling at ceiling and around door, dresser drawers warped, no wifi 2 days, no extra toilet tissue, lucky to get clean sheets & pillows, had to keep going to front desk for clean towels, no customer service skills at front desk - clerks or manager, prepaid with group and others had similar problems with rooms and service, only booked with group because of 2 diamond AAA rating at time - they no longer have that rating!!! Pool area nice, looks nice from outside - don't be fooled.

Not Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/08
I would not stay here again. My room did not seem clean at all. Had to sleep on top of my covers. The sink would not stop running. There was food and junk in the A/C vent. Floors didn't seem like they were vacuumed. Bath tub look really dirty. White towels had black streaks on some of them.

Disgusting!!!!
By Heather, 6/6/08
We arrived at this place and it looked great from the outside. The lobby was even pretty nice as well. However, the second we stepped into our first room - we were appalled. We stepped into darkness - our lights didn't work, our TV didn't work, the toilet didn't flush and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. There were stains everywhere and tears in the carpet. We called the front desk and they moved us to room #2 and it didn't look nearly as bad as the first one until we went into the bathroom and realized that the floor was covered with water because of a leaking shower. I called the front desk again and the woman there was very apologetic and refunded our money which was definitely nice but this place is gross - I don't know how anyone could have stayed there. Lucky for us, a Hilton was right next door :)
