Lazy S Lodge, South Lake Tahoe

Rented 4 rooms here to attend a wedding. Rooms were clean & good sized with nice decor. Kitchenette, outdoor ping pong,Barbecue & hot top were a plus!!! Would most certainly stay here again!!!!!

This place is so old school that you feel you are living in the distant past! Yeah, if you want to stay in some upscale place with concierges and all that stuff, your dime. I LOVE this place, have been going up for almost fifteen years and bringing a bunch of family with me. Close to beach, clubs, hiking, ice cream and all things Tahoe, at the end of the day we have huge bbq's on the lawn right next to the pool. An acquired taste, to be sure, but our family totally loves it. Great for kids, and for awesome cocktail hours and huge bbq's, complete with laughter, ping-pong,music, and lots of fun, a classic American vacay. Bring your sunscreen and classic oldies!!! Great summer spot!!!

This place is absolutely unsafe for anybody. The exposed electrical wiring all over the yard and IN THE POOL AREA is shocking, how can this place be operating? The fire department should be parking in front of it or just shut it down. To the rooms, yes they are clean but a 8" dark stain on the carpet in the middle of the room is not very inviting. The beds are not worth talking about only that we decided to sleep on the optional futon in the living room. A 14-16" computer screen without additional speakers is a very pathetic TV and probable still the best in the whole room attire. Very Very cheap and no it is not rustic, just cheap. Not a great value at $124 per night. for this

I tried to contact my parents, who were guests there, on an urgent matter, and found that they only staff the front desk from 9 to 9 -- and then they still did not answer the phone after 9am. So I will have to drive 5 RT hours to solve a problem that could have been solved with a 5 minute phone call ...

I grew up staying at the Lazy S. My family has been going there every year! Now it is so nice to get to bring my own family there to have as much fun as I did when I was growing up. It is a very laid back atmosphere. Everyone is always very nice. The rooms are clean, and we love the little kitchenette. We love hanging out on the grass at night time with our whole family while the kids run around and play, we all love the ping-pong-table! We can't wait to go back!

Great little single story hotel. Designed in a horse shoe shape around the pool. Grassy lawns with bar b ques and pic nic tables. Great for families, and low key vacations. We loved the layed back feeling.

We've stayed at far pricier places, but none feel so much like the old Lake Tahoe as this one -- the bbqs, the pool, and the terrific cottages (if you can, try to stay in a cottage, although the rooms look nice too) make this a comfortable, cozy, welcoming place, great for families. Time stands still here, but in a good way. I think the owners might be new, but from what I saw, they seemed like terrific people, very familiar with Tahoe, and very helpful.

It was so much more than I expected! We had just had a bad experience the night before at another motel down the street, so just about anything would have been an improvement; but the Lazy S was one of the best places I've EVER stayed! The bed was nice and big and comfy, the room was great, and the kitchen--! I wish we were staying longer! (And I wish we had a chance to check out the pool/spa) My ONLY complaint was with the teeny bathroom and shower setup, but I'm kinda spoiled. The Lazy S is where we are going to stay from now on whenever we go to South Tahoe!

We are already booked for this summer, and are looking forward to staying again at the Lazy S. The grounds are beautifully maintained (beautiful lawn area with BBQ's), nice potted plants with freshly planted flowers, twinkling lights in trees. Our family has stayed at the Lazy S for years and look forward to it every year. We have stayed at nicer, up-scale Tahoe Keys also, which we love, but always end up going back to Lazy S because the kids have a funner time. Kids can still be swimming while parents get the BBQ going. Everything is all there. Great management, very clean, conveniently located. Maid service comes every morning with fresh towels, etc. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend going.
