Embassy Suites Detroit - Southfield, Southfield

On arrival the three rooms we booked with an adjoining door had been released and we were re-assigned rooms all in different locations, not good when i had 4 kids under 15 years of age. We were part of a group and there were 9 other groups staying that weekend, very busy. The hotel check-in staff were wonderful I believe Chris was his name and one other gentleman. After that I have no clue where the staff came from but they were rude, unhelpful and miserable it had a funeral parlour feel. The wait time for breakfast was about 45 mins and then you had to wait for a seat! The pool and hot tub area were disgusting scum floating with skin flakes in the hot tub! The rooms were dirty, smelly, stains on the headboard! yikes carpets were stained, pictures had half the frame missing, dirty bed sheets on the pull out sofa, rust, peeling paint, mould on the tiles and no plug in the bathroom. Couldn't get a refund because we needed to give 72hrs notice! makes no sense. The final straw kids were hanging in the halls all weekend on all nine floors, and that is understandable with nine teams staying in your hotel but security wanted everyone in their rooms by ten! People are on holiday it was like a prison and looked like it. Security evicted families at 11pm selecting random rooms where people were seen standing one of them being mine, none of the people were from our three rooms, I have never been so humiliated in my life, especially when the police arrived! Can you imagine the embarrassment, I will be taking this up with Hilton as I have never felt so violated and scared and this is America!

I really enjoyed the Hot Breakfast!!! The Breakfast staff were very friendly and eager to assist.!!!

The two room suite was very nice and clean. They offer a reception from 5-7:30 pm with free snacks and drinks. A free hot breakfast with made to order omelets and all of the extras. Best value and location for the money.

it started off kinda rocky my friend was planning a romantic get away & got a hard time but by the time I arrived all was resolved & we enjoyed ourselfs

I have went to this hotel on 3 differnt occassions. Each time their services was wonderful. I had no problems. I would highly recommend this hotel for serveral different event.

The front desk staff were not, shall we say, friendly. I travel a lot and I usually don't have to wait for three front desk people to finish a conversation before they decide to check me in. And this wasn't the only time. My company has sent me to this hotel a few times, and every time I've stayed here, the front desk has not been a pleasant experience. Secondly, their food services needs to be improved. At the "manager's reception" in the evening, the hot food was gone after 20 minutes and never was replaced. Ditto in the morning for the breakfast. Scrambled eggs were gone...I took the last of them. This hotel is getting a little run-down. Embassy Suites are usually pristine and well-run establishments. This hotel doesn't deserve the name. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to stay here again. I'd rather no.

The reception staff was very helpful. The service was average. The tables and the floor of the breakfast area were sticky. The first non-smoking room must have been used as a cigar club, the second was very good

An excellent hotel for the value, and I've stayed all over the world at some of the best. While no "Ritz", the friendly staff, prompt service, generous spaces, and excellent amenities, makes this Embassy Suites a great choice for a comfortable stay.
