Not what we expected...
We found our stay here to be "a step short of elegant" in just about every way. We were assinged to the Forever Summer room (the blue room w/ wicker furniture). There were large cracks in the wall above the bed, the windows did not stay open without propping something in them and they had no screens to keep the bugs out, the sitting room was very uncomfortable, the train came very loudly through the backyard several times throughout the night, waking us both. Plus, there was next to zero hospitality shown by the hosts, which is what is usually so special about staying at a B&B.
Yes, they had wine and hors d'oeuvers before dinner, but the wine was from a box and the hors d'oeuvers were Ritz crackers with something spread on them. The only "nice" restaurant anyone could tell us about was across the street--they served potato chips and french onion dip while you waited for your very uninspired, overpriced meal.
This was supposed to be a romantic getaway for my husband and myself, as I was 8 1/2 mos. pregnant with our second child. I felt terrible that we got a sitter and drove two hours for this "getaway."
The one positive thing I could say about our stay was that my breakfast was very, very good (stuffed french toast)yum! Unfortunately, my husband did not care much for his, and he usually likes anything.
Overall, we left disappointed and quite worn out from the lack of sleep and rest. Would not recommend--esp. considering that with tax and all we paid close to $200 for one night at this inn.
