Description

Grand Targhee Resort receives over 500 inches of snow each winter over 1800 acres of lift serviced ski and snowboard terrain. An additional 600 acres of terrain are reserved exclusive for Grand Targhee Snowcat Adventures. In summer, Grand Targhee Resort operates a scenic chairlift with spectacular views of Grand Teton National park, and the best mountain bike and hiking trails in the region. A kaleidoscope of wildflowers blankets the mountain in July and August. Three mountainside lodges provide ski-in/ski-out convenience to the slopes at Grand Targhee Resort in the winter, and are walking distance from all of the Summer activities the resort has to offer. Each of the three lodges are walking distance from the outdoor heated pool and hot tub at The Spa at Grand Targhee. Grand Targhee Resort is an idyllic setting for group gatherings or business conferences of any size. Not only is the scenery inspiring and the air clear, our secluded alpine resort offers the optimum private setting to step away from the stresses of everyday life. Four separate meeting rooms of varying capacity and our mountainside conference tent combine for over 9,000 sq. ft of conference space, offering flexibility for larger group functions. Our full-time conference planners can help arrange everything- accommodations, meals, activities, meeting rooms, theme parties, events and off-site golf and fishing outings, to name a few. Nestled beneath the peaks of the Grand Tetons, Alta is a 42 mile drive from Jackson Hole, and 100 miles from the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

Beautiful summer hiking - views of the Tetons.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/16/06
Spectacular views of the "back side" of the Tetons - NO crowds - several relatively easy trails wind through the foothills - the wildflowers in July were spectacular

The Best Kept Secret
By IGOR1138, 9/28/05
I have skied and Grand Targhee several times and I always find it to be the most relaxing place I have ever skied. It is a little out of the way but that is great because crowds never really develop. the snow is great the people working there are awsome and the accomadations are first class. Most of the accomidations are a few miles but well worth the drive. I am looking forwrd to returning this next ski season.

Grand Targhee in June
By Brigitte, 8/21/04
My family stayed at the Grand Targhee Resort in June, 2004 while on a 2 week vacation traveling through 15 states. It was the most memorable of nights on our whole vacation. The weather was still cold and there was still snow on the ground. There were very few people there.
We used the heated pool, weight room and jacuzzi. But the best part was the lodge. My boys started a fire and I headed off to the desk for a wide selection of games they supply. We stayed up all night and played UNO. The atmosphere was perfect for forgetting all our hours spent in the car and having a good time. We had to leave early in the morning to get to Yellowstone but we would love to return and spend more time at the resort.
