Premiere Hotel and Suites, New Haven

We had not been back in a few years and visited New Haven this past weekend. We arrived on Thursday and we were pleasantly surprised to find that a dinner was included in addition to breakfast. My kids loved the pasta for dinner. The penthouse was great. Lot's of space and two TV's. The front desk was so friendly. I booked it online and got a great value for a family traveling and looking to get the most for your money.

I am just pleased that I didn't read some of the negative reviews before visiting this excellent hotel. As a family with three children (7, 13, 15) it is difficult to find accomodation which is sufficiently spacious without breaking the bank but the Premiere Hotel offered this opportunity. We stayed in a wonderful suite with two bathrooms, kingsize, queen-size, and sofa-bed, cooker, fridge and freezer. In addition we were provided with a comlimentary breakfast, shuttle service, and outdoor swimming -pool; and all at a highly competitive rate. This hotel comes highly recommended.

We called the front desk for some extra towels and some extra shampoo and conditioner,(Those little 1 oz. size don't cut it) we were ask "did you use the 2 towels provided already, and the shampoo and condition Huh", then we were told that they have no one to bring the towels and the soaps to the room, so I had to venture off at midnight to get some towels "Weird" but when I got to the front their were 3 people standing around looking at each other, The we asked for a wake up call, the clerk went looking around for some book and asked what time we wanted to be called, Didn't trust that system so I set my cell phone to wake me up, dont know if they called, we were outta there ask quickly as we can! Do yourself a favor and do some research and find a desent place to stay!!

This hotel stay was my worst experience ever. I have never been to a more classless hotel in my lifetime. The hotel staff was extremely rude. The rooms were disgusting and unkept. I would not recomond this hotel to my worst enemy!!!!!

More later. In the meantime, don't book here. The Quality Inn is a much better deal and with very nice upgrades and a service staff that doesn't make you feel like you are an inconvenience, it's like the "ritz" compared to the alternative. Dirrrrrty, filthy and RUDE !

My boyfriend was coming to visit me from New York and the original plan was to go to La Quinta Inn..but when we arrived there (though I had called in advancce) we were told the hotel was booked solid..(lesson: NEVER do a walk in ..reserve a room) Anyway..after walking around distraught to an Ikea (we had no car)..an employee told us about the Premiere Hotel and Suites.. I called 411 got the number and inquired if they had rooms available (at this point I didnt care HOW much it cost..it's was 98 sweltering degreees outside!!) It was just down the street and the taxi drove us there.. THE ONLY BAD THING WE EXPERIENCED is that u needed a credit card to book the room and all I had on me was cash and no money on my debit/check card... and they wouldnt take it!!! So I had to call ANOTHER taxi to take me to the Bank of America down the street to put the cash into my account so I could use that car.. Needless to say after this..we were hot, sweaty and just tired.. But it was all worth it when we got to the room.. BEAUTFIUL.. a full kitchen..fridge, freezer with icemaker, stove, microwave,dishwasher, 4 plates and bowls, wine goblets with linen napkins in them set up at the kitchen table...a couch and armchair..a queen bed..with a clean comfortable comforter..the bed was COMFY!..the bathroom is extremely spacious and clean.. soap, shampoo, conditioner is provided for u.. in the closet there's an ironing board and iron..blowdryer in bathroom.. GREAT PLACE.. looks like an apartment! there's a pool, free breakfast and light dinner with vendign machines located in the laundry room for guests... The staff was kind and helpful..and they gave us a bunch of take out menus in case we wanted to order out.. Check out time was fast and the free shuttle took my boyfriend to the train station and dropped me off at Yale Hospital where I work! The shuttle will also take u to wherever in New Haven u want! All of this cost us 129.00 dollars!! A great deal for a walk in.. I'm sure if I had researched online prior I could've gotten a good internet deal

I was visting New Haven to work with a colleague at Yale. He suggested the hotel since I was bringing my family. Lot's of room in the suite and the kitchen allowed my wife store bottles for our infant son. There was a van that drove me to Yale and back (10 minutes) so the family could go to Mystic, Ikea and the dinosaur place. I thought I would mind being further from campus, however it was perfect. It is a little tired yet clean. The girls at the desk were very nice and helpful. Loved the free breakfast and cookies. We'll stay again if we have to go to Yale again.

We stayed two nights and although we knew about the breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised about the light dinner that was included in the price. We were in the area to see the Pilot Pen tennis tournament, and we would definitely stay again. The only negative was that the property could use a little fixing up, but overall we were pleased.

This was advertised as a "Marriott" Residence Inn and we needED the space for 3 people - we were in Town for a graduation. The first room they tried to give us was horrible - advertised a pull out sofA - NO pull out sofa, but a very, very, dirty old sofa...no way my daughter was going to sleep on that...bathroom was old and floor was cracked and molding held together by tape. The rug looked and smelled like it was 100 years old! No real furnishing! The second room they gave us had 2 double beds and the rug again was atrocious - and NOT vacuumed. It had beer can tops in the corners, etc. We called around but could not find another place. WOULD NEVER, EVER STAY THERE AGAIN. It was $150.00 a night!! It was worth about $35.00, maybe.

We stayed for a couple of nights and found: a) staff very friendly and accommodating b) breakfast time was nice and casual and the coffee was good. Service very clean, and safe to walk around in. also, access to 95 is fine and you can find the Marriott easily.
