Good, not great
By Daniel, 5/16/11
It was a good location with lots to do nearby, as well as good access to public transportation to get to the main parts of the city. We did have problems with the plumbing; the toilet did not flush properly with one flush and the shower dripped constantly.

We will definitely use Westin again!!!
By Ashley, 1/12/09
We loved this hotel! It was a great escape from our lives. It has a clean, modern style! The service was great! The location was great! The parking was slightly frustrating. At $29 dollars a night we figured it was worth the peace of mind. We loved it!!!

Will not return to this one!!!!
By Sassy, 8/28/08
It was nice, no doubt, but it's time for an upgrade. The room had only one dresser, if that's what you call it. Just shelves for you clothes, and not enough room for both my husband and my stuff. The pool was too loud, rooftop, it should be further up. Guests would eat lunch poolside and it would be hours and hours before anyone would come clean up the dirty dishes, etc. paper napkins would be blowing into the pool and up into the air. Not a pretty sight. Parking in their garage and having to pay 27.00 /night is ridiculous! They need to treat their guests a bit better thatn that! I think they have some work to do.....I will look for another place to stay should I go back to SD and I do plan to go back.

Great Location - Thats About It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/08
Location is great. Hotel however is very overpriced. Needs a major makeover. Rooms are small, dark, dated, & not the cleanest. Parking is overpriced and is valet on top of it...so be ready to add a tip on top of the valet of $29 per day. I suggest finding a hotel with reasonable parking or at least shuttle to/from airport. City transit system is great, but not with kids, need to rent car.

Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/07
We were not told before we arrived that the only parking available was valet at $27 a night. We arrived at 6:30 and were told that they did not have the room we reserved available, but would be happy to put is in a traditional room instead. The a/c didn't work and we were awakened at 7:30 in the morning by the people in the room next door. We could hear their entire conversation, as well as their television. Luckily we booked this room at a special rate. I would not pay $300 for this experience. On the plus side, the bed was wonderful and the food and service at the Horton grill was exceptional.

We were disappointed in this Westin....seemed abit shabby and in need of a make-over
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/07
The corridors were dark and the carpets in need up dating. There were no drawers in the room to put your unpacked clothes only selves..What's that all about. The bar in the lobby was never attended. Check out was even worse...be sure to check you bill. The elevators...super slow, allow yourself time on these. The staff was friendly, but limited in numbers. Location was fantastic..lots of shopping and resturants...watch out were you are sent to eat ...some resturants "very expensive"

Heavenly!
By Shantel, 7/28/06
You can't really go wrong w/ the Heavenly Bed! Even if the hotel sucked and everything else was awful once you got into bed it would all go away! But, that isn't the case here. Not only are the beds amazing as with all Westins, the location of this hotel is perfect! We had a wonderful time shopping at Horton Plaza and seeing all the sights close by. We prefer to stay at Westin Resorts when we are just passing through some place, as was the case w/ our time here. We were only here one night. You can always count on a clean, friendly, comfortable atmosphere!

Great location-poor value for cose
By Mandy, 5/27/06
The location of this hotel was wonderful. Our room however......the smallest room I have ever seen for $300/night!! The floor was nasty, I had a jaket that had a soda spilled on it on a flight and sent it to laundry, 2 days later it came back declined as they decided the stain was set. Guess what?, I took the jacket home 4 days later and it came clean. This place advertises beautiful rooms on it's website, but I assume now those were all suites. I would reccommend the Hilton on Mission Bay if visiting San Diego, on a former trip I stayed there for half the price and the room was at least 3x larger, nicer view, clean, and as beautiful or more than advertised on their website.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/06
There are several good things about this hotel and very few bad things. In short, the hotel was located in the Gas Lamp quarter, the room was clean and nicely decorated. The help was also courteous and quick to respond to all my needs. The only thing missing is a cd player in the room. I would definitely stay there again.

good choice
By Karla, 4/4/06
I stayed in the hotel for one night.. i had a good experience.. the service was good.. everyone was friendly.. i request a king size bed, when we got the room there were a double beds. i called front desk and they were able to help right away.. they moved us to a king size bed room with no problem.the only problem was that it smell like cigarret. the bed was wonderfull. the bathroom was clean and it had two shower heads. the location of the hotel was perfect. its located next to the mall, its walking distant from the bars and restarunts..there was no need for a taxi. i'm going back in few weeks and im going to stay there again
