We'll stay here again!
By R S, 09/07/09
Labor Day weekend 2009. Booked the room late on Friday and got a good, clean room with everything we needed to have a great weekend. The motel isn't the newest, but it's quiet, has good service and the best price in town. Our room was on the back side of the motel, and it was funny, but also my only complaint that we could only get an internet signal by the bathroom sink! Breakfast offering consisted of doughnuts and bagles with coffee and juices - we required more, so so we ate at a nearby restaurant. Still a good bargain and the staff is friendly and helpful so we'll be staying there again.

STAFF MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/08
ALL IN ALL THIS IS THE BEST VALUE IN MOREHEAD CITY. THE ROOMS ARE NOT THE NICEST BUT THE STAFF MADE UP FOR THAT WITH THEIR KNOWLDEGE OF THE AREA.THE WAY GEORGE WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE US HAPPY (HE BOOKED ROOMS FOR US AT OUR NEXT TWO STOPS)AND BASICALLY GUIDED US THROUGH OUR STAY HERE. THE MANAGER WAS VERY PLEASANT AT CHECK-IN (I WAS IMPRSSED THAT SHE WAS EVEN THERE THAT LATE IN THE EVENING) AND SHOULD BE CONGRATULATED ON HOW WELL SHE HAS TRAINED HER STAFF TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT IS REALLY A ONE STAR HOTEL.

I've a stayed at better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/08
Day of stay: 03-10-08 :The rooms were dirty, and they smelled. The paint was flaking off of the walls, and the carpet was badly stained. I did enjoy the help from the man working the late shift. He directed me to a really good breakfast. All in all the place was cheap, you get what you paid for. I would probably stay again, if they could only fix the rooms.

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/08
I stayed here due to a business trip. I haven't been here in a couple of years, but stayed at the Econo Lodge then. I had a very positive experience. This time however I couldn't have had a worse time. The rooms were dirty, they smelled, and there was no hot water. The only bright spot of the whole trip was the nice young man who worked third shift. He did all he could to get me into a suitable room. He finally did. If you do get stuck into staying at this hotel ask for the night auditor, I beleive his name was Shawn.

Kyle made all the difference
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/07
Well it was an average hotel, fair priced for the area, but most of all the front desk manager Kyle was the most professional desk clerk we have ever seen. All the other employes were average at their jobs. He was dressed for success, he was super polite, and he knew how to handle every situation with speed and effeciency. We strongly suggest that you ask for Kyle when you do business with this place.

Disgusting not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
There was nothing to like about this place. The first room we were given smelled and the curtain was hanging off except for one hook. The next room we were given was a little better but the bottom of the tub was stained. The reception area didn't answer the phone when we called. The so called breakfast was coffee and greasy stick to the roof donuts. So I would say think twice about staying there.

I had a good stay!!!!
By V or Doll, 05/30/06
The room was very clean stocked with everything I even got the chance to take a nice hot bath. I enjoyed the breakfast which was nice. The hotel was close to all the stores so you didn't have to drive far to get to them.

The Best
I've lived in Morehead city since I was born and I had a friend coming to visit from Illinois. He had booked a reservation at a different "run-down" inn. It was late and I just couldn't stomach him staying in the place he had got a reservation for, so, we went to the Econo lodge and got the best rate in town for a 9day stay. Within 15 minutes he was in his bed sleepin' away!!!! Thank you EconoLodge!!! (They had also just painted all the rooms. It was very clean and nice!)

Not worth the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/05
Wasn't very clean. Other hotels in the area charge almost half less for comparable rooms. This used to be a very nice place to stay, but has degressed considerably.
