Totally renovated, refurnished, and restored
By ,
The new owners reopened this National Historic Register Victorian gem on 11/01/10 after a top to bottom restoration. These reviews, beyond Christy 09/07/09 are from the previous era. The new management provides an exquisite guest experience. The Restaurant and Tavern are top notch.

Looking forward to our return.
By ,
We arrived on the Fri. 11th and departed on the 13th. A valentine special was offered with roses in the room and a jazz band in the lobby. The beds were a little uncomfortable, next time we'll take our cloud. BUT we loved the charm of the old place and the renovations that were going on.

Magical
By ,
The Green Park Inn is old, but that's the charm. It's like stepping back in time. I don't mind that things aren't "up to date" so to speak. There is so little left of the past, and being there, for me, is magical. I feel like I go back in time, to when things were more simple and elegant. I love the Green Park Inn, and pray that whomever the new owner will be, will definitely keep the hotel open and the spirit of the past alive!

Great Place
By ,
I came up to the Green Park Inn last year for the first time and we loved it , i was not looking for the update place or was i looking to get my room for free like most of these negitive reviews want to get everything for Free , how i feel for you all , go stay at your Day Inn and get your Free bannana and cold cereal in the morning , when i read the website and i learned the hotel was a Historical Hotel , i knew it was not going to be brand new , i love Historical Places AND ENJOY all the history that stands behind it . If you are looking for a layed back comfortable setting , and good company to visit with and great employees to assist you while you stay ,Well then go to the Green Park Inn ! Do Not Believe all reviews , because if i did i would of never of came to see this Great Hotel that was names Green Park Inn .

Stay away unless you like rust
By ,
I've passed by this Victorian style hotel for close to 40 years as I traveled back and forth over the years to my alma mater, ASU. I always wanted to try it and this weekend I got my wish. Boy, was I ever dissapointed. Place was a dump. I cannot remember when I stayed in a more poorely kept abode. Furniture in room was very nice but that was extent of positive things that I can say. Bathroom was scary, to say the least. I don't believe they have updated it since before World War 2! I would say it would have been a bargain at even $39 a night, much less $139. Dark and musty lobby and employees that could care less. Noisy drunks in halls at night and A/C and ceiling fan in room both were junk! Highly recommend you pass by and just enjoy the view and stay anywhere but here.

Would not recommend this Hotel
By ,
After staying there we decided that "historical" was a cheap excuse for old and run down!! The matresses are probably as old as the building! You can hear your next door neighbour sneeze. The pipes are extremely noisy! Overall, it was a very bad experience - just not much good to say about this place!

Beautiful Romantic Hotel
By ,
We have been every year since 2003! We LOVE The Green Park Inn! We always stay in the same room, our room in huge and it has a nice jetted tub in the bedroom area and a ball in claw tub in the bathroom, beautiful marble floors and an extremely comfortable bed! We love the Divide tavern and the old music that plays through out the hotel. It is a very old hotel but that is what makes it so special! Yes we will continue to stay there in the future we have never been bothered by "noises" or anything of the sort. Our room has always been spotless and the staff has always been MORE than gracious. If you are looking for a real treat make reservations at the Grotto spa! All in all if you don't like old hotels, old houses and all of the things that go along with satying in such places then by all means stay somewhere else but you are really missing out on a treat.

Too Old!!!
By ,
I must say it was a beautiful place, Bowling Rock and architecture of the hotel was incredible..however the stay not so much. I stayed for two nights paying over $250, have paid so much less for a modern hotels such as Best Western or Marriott that gave me a better rest. The room was big, however there were no mirrors other than the one in the bathroom and over the chest--however that was also blocked by the TV. There were loud noises of water going through pipes or something of the sort and the bathroom flushed on its own in the middle of the night. There were noises, at times I didn't know whether they were from other guests or possible ghosts I heard that night. The room smelled of old generation/furniture. I must say however the place was clean, not new, but clean. The staff was very strange as well, they seemed a bit slow. I will never ever stay in this hotel again, because it is in need of major renovation. You can't possibly appreciate history with out comfort!!!

Step back in time
By ,
A hotel growing old gracefully is fine. However a few updates along the way are necessary. The available free space in each room was limited due to oversized furniture and not so big rooms. Because the hotel hasn't had major reconstruction the walls are a bit thin. We just happened to stay on a night of a wedding party. Luckily (sarcasm) our room was over the party. We heard every word, every obnoxious laugh and every song played at the wedding party. After two calls to the desk and realizing the party was going to go on well past eleven o'clock at night...we changed rooms. The girl at the front desk was SUPER nice and even adjusted our bill considerably to compensate for the inconvenience. Unfortunately the second room had a mouse/rat in the wall and I had to listen to him nibble all night long. And I do mean ALL NIGHT LONG. Still...it beat the first room. We won't stay at Green Park Inn again. It's old, outdated and has lost any charm it may have had in it's hay day.
