This Yankee will visit again !
By ,
Drove down from Wisconsin not sure what to expect. What I found was a classic southern mansion, classic decor, and excellent breakfasts. My room was comfortable and inviting. My only regret was that I didn't see any ghosts. Maybe next time. Thank you Mr. Sharp.

Loved this bed and breakfast.
By ,
My sister and I stayed here for two days in Feb 2010. The house is beautiful. The rooms are great, with fireplaces and very spacious. The house has a wonderful history and is packed full of antiques. They do have 3 dogs, but they are very friendly and we did not mind them at all. Breakfast was awesome and left us not craving lunch anytime soon. We manage a BnB ourselves in Hot Springs and would definitely recommend staying here. If you absolutely can not tolerate pets (dogs), you may want to consider somewhere else, but if you are an animal lover, like history, and good food, this may be the place for you.

ineptness at best
made reservations online, & they called to confirm 8-28,29,30 of 2008. I had a written confirmation, and told them I would arrive late & they told me they would leave the key in a specific location. After driving 9hrs & arriving at 2am, the key was nowhere to be found and they did not answer any of the #'s they gave me to call for assistance. I left messages & as of 930 the next morning no one had called back. I stopped by and Harry said they were full up for the weekend a Dr. was staying & they did not have a reservation for me even though they had already charged my card. Harry told me not to worry they would get me a room & he was so sorry. I had a tour scheduled at 10 for the cemetary, so he told me to go ahead & he would call my cell and let me know what was going on. I finished the tour at 12:20 & went back to the B&B & Harry was no where to be found. I called the number & chad answered & basically said sorry, no room at the Inn. But Harry is trying to find you a room somewhere else. They did not offer a free tour of the mansion, a free night some other time. Nothing to compensate me for the 9hr. drive and having to find other accomodations at 215am. Let alone this place sits in the middle of ghetto ville. We were accosted by a black man wanting money. We attended as a gtoup and the story telling was incediable to say the least. You could feel the passion of the story teller and the ghosts the haunt you.

Great place
By ,
Awesome history in this place. Used as a civil war hospital during the battle of Vicksburg. Nice rooms, large comfortable bed. We stayed here in late July of 2006. We were the only ones there that night, and it was a Friday night, so you can expect it to be a quiet retreat. It is haunted, and you may very well find this out personally, but it is not a "scary" kind of haunted, it feels very friendly. The only complaint we had was our AC wasn't working in our room. It seemed to blow cool air, but the room never got below 85 degrees all night, even though it was in the 70s outside. Kind of strange, the owner said he kept having repairmen come out to fix it but they hadn't been able to find the problem at that time.

Can't wait to go back
By ,
The Green Duff Manor is an excellent bed and breakfast to stay at in Vicksburg. Harry made us feel at home the minute he opened the door. A wonderful host and true gentleman. His staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was gorgeous and very relaxing. The breakfast was delicious (a real southern breakfast). Green Duff Manor is a beautiful home and furnished with the most gorgeous antiques. Parking is great (right on the property). Thank you Harry for making our vacation a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Green Duff Manor. Bob and Bobbie Thompson (psychomom365)

Dogs are nusiance
By ,
The four guest rooms are in the cellar which means they are somewhat dark and clammy. Additionally, two long-haired, bad-smelling dogs have the run of the house and guests have to be careful to close the hall door behind them so the dogs won't get out. The manager should either keep the dogs out of the guest area or tell people about the animals when they make reservations--not everyone likes dogs. Two members of our party found dog hairs in our breakfast one morning, however, we didn't say anything because of other guests. Also, the night we arrived, there was no ice available in the ice maker or the kitchen. I would not stay at Duff Green again.
