Back to Basics
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/07
If you just want a bed and shower, this is the place for you. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Reception is open 24 hrs so someone is available to help you at any time. However, heating/air conditioning didn't work in my room so it was quite cold at night, especially with the thin blankets! Also water never got hot so showers were luke warm at best. Oh - and they might not be able to provide you with fresh towels depending on how busy they are!

Hot water, clean sheets
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/22/06
Great location. Now, why is it that anyone would pay more than what they make in a day for a safe, clean place to sleep? This cute little spot makes it possible for people like me to travel. Thanks, Silver Moon.

Cute but lacking cleanliness
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/06
We loved how cute this hotel seemed on the outside. We much prefer to stay at NON-chain hotels so this is the way we travel. But once we got inside, it seemed so dirty. The bathtubs were disgusting and the one we had had a slow drain (like over 8 hours to drain one shower) and it leaked somehow onto the carpet in the vanity area. We finally got moved to a "non" smoking room but it had quite obviously been smoked in, not once, but regularly. They ran out of breakfast and there was a party of over 20 rugby players who stayed up all night drinking and yelling in the parking lot (some of which was not the hotel's fault, but when several guests complained about this group, they did nothing). We ended up getting a credit for the room with the leaking bathtub, so customer service seemed okay. Overall, as an adult, I would never stay here again. As a teenager or college person, it's probably the right atmosphere. It's close to everything.

Rte 66 Revisited
We hit this hotel on our way back from the grand canyon. If you are traveling east into Albuquerque I recommend taking the Historic 66 exit. The view of Albuquerque at night coming down the hill is just like a movie. The city lights are just spread out before you. But I digress. This hotel was one of the nicest we stayed in on our budget conscious trip. I felt it was a good taste of the Route 66 experience. Room was large, bathroom was spotless. Decor was 'classic'. The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly. The price of the room was PERFECT.

Great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/05
stayed five days, staff was very helpful, clean and basic but nicely furnished rooms. The location is great, right on the main road between downtown and the "old town" tourist area (and just down the street from the downtown nightlife). I plan to go back and stay there again.

Bargain in the city
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/05
The staff was friendly, and as other reviews said, the rooms are large. I like how they took an old motel and made it a place to stay again. I prefer that to staying in the new chain motels. They chose tasteful furnishings that fit with the era of the motel. The room had a large tv and a king bed. The room was comfortable, especially for the price. My only complaints are that the carpet seemed cheap and Central Avenue can be noisy with sirens late at night.
