Russells Motel, Caribou

Very clean, quiet, comfortable, all for a very reasonable rate. Will stay there again.

We arrived a bit early, before check-in time, after a 7 hour drive. Since our rooms were clean & ready, she let us check-in early. The rooms were spacious & clean. A cute little place just outside of 'downtown', with a picturesque farm across the street & green fields behind. A nice place to stay & the prices are very reasonable.

Donna has always been very accommodating and helpful. We always know we can depend on getting a very clean peaceful room. She has taken the extra effort with homemade style quilts. As for people that cancel at the last minute, most lodging in Maine and elsewhere do not refund your deposit of one night's lodging. The rates are very reasonable and therefore the rules have to be set because people will take advantage! We will always be glad to recommend Russell's to anyone!

My family and I were planning a trip to Caribou on the 4th of July weekend and planning on staying at Russell's. 5 days before the trip a friend offered us his empty house to stay in. I accepted and called to cancel our room. The owner was very upset as we were not the first to cancel our room due to a friend offering a free place to stay. She yelled about how she is losing money and it is "really poor" of people to cancel room reservations. She was very snotty to me and charged us a night's stay which I have since learned is against Maine state law! I would not reccommend this motel to anyone. The friend who owns the house we will be staying at knows the owner personally and says that she is not a pleasant person and would NEVER stay at her motel!

Basic, no-frill accomodations for a rock-bottom price. Definitely a place where "Everybody (Donna) knows your name!" Highly recommended.
