I was afraid of Aqua Star after reading all of the terrible reviews about their bait and switch practices. It said on the web that it was only 65 a night so we gave it a try. Upon arrival, we did have to fight for the 65 price. The person ultimately gave us the room, but ho hummed about it. Really guys, make your website reflect the price that you wish me to pay, do not make the web price the gross room price and some arbitrary price the good room price. Anyway, the room itself was fine and the pool is nice. What's weird though is that there are people that live here all of the time. One room has three garbage bags in front of it. The grounds need to be swept of cigarette butts and the scene is a little shady. It wasn't as bad as the reviews though. They need to get consistent with their pricing so that it reflects the web and they need to clean up a bit outside and it would be okay for a night or two.

Not that bad

I had read reviews & was not thinking of staying but everything else was booked & so I went over to Aquastar to see it for myself. I was very surprised but what I found. The rooms were not as bad as decribed online. The bed was neatly made & clean. The bathroom was clean along with the towels. They had a refrigerator & mircowave in the room but was missing the coffee pot but had great coffee in the office in the morning. The staff was all very nice. My son loved the pool. It was not the Hilton but for the price it was very nice & I would come back again.

dont believe the good reviews, the owners have gone to every website they can trying to save themselves from bad reviews. This place is awful. I don't know when the new owners took over, but they have no sense of customer service. When we stayed, we complained about the leaking sewer, which was backed up into the parking lot, where there were kids. we were told if you don't like it then leave..??? you are supposed to make customers HAPPY so they come back. not treat them like dirt. rooms are dirty. they brag about landscaping on their website, but have a look behind the fence at all the trash they litter with (old beds etc)....disgusting. Bugs in the room, floors filthy. spend the extra and go elsewhere!!

We arrived on Fri. and the floors were not swept from the prior guests.(lots of sand on floor) We were with a large group and made reservations a month in advance, we were quoted a group rate price. Upon arriving we were charged $30.00 more per night. I had printed coupons from there website which were not honored. A request for towels our second day was ignored. The rooms in general were disgusting and the service was terrible. The continental Breakfast does not include any juice only coffee. Do your children drink coffee for breakfast? The website shows a beautiful place all I saw was a dump. Broken furniture and leaky sinks, water on the floor, no towels and an attitude at the main desk. In general not good business. I highly do NOT recommend this place and will NEVER go back

This place is Great would go again!

We stayed on the 4th of july weekend and the staff were VERY friendly the accomodation were VERY clean and the new owners are great and are remodeling all the rooms. If your in this area you should stop and stay a bit.

We would go back

As we have been going here for years,the rooms are all getting remodeled.The new owners are making every effort to make your stay more enjoyable. As we travel on a motorcycle we require more towels ,all we have to do is ask. You also can have coffee at almost anytime along with donuts or bagels etc.The swimming pool is beautiful as is the surrounding grounds there are picnic tabels and gas grills to use if you didnt bring one .Each room has hbo and showtime along with a fridge and microwave also air conditioning and heat. While we were there, there was a painting company sprucing up the light poles and outside etc.Last year if you asked me if i would recommend this place i would have been hesitant, now if you asked me i would definetly say stay here as the many improvements make it more pleasant. Oh by the way all the rooms have either new ceramic tile or hardwood flooring. To the new owners keep up the good work as it will pay off in the end . Thanks Jim and Barb from Gloversville NEW YORK

Great value and service at up and coming motel

We rented 8 motel rooms at the Aquastar Inn at Westerly, a short drive to the gorgeous beaches in Watch Hill, RI. My extended family enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July weekend thanks to this affordable lodging option. The new owners bought the motel last winter and are working hard to renovate and update the rooms. This is a work in progress, with some rooms being further along than others. The new owners are very friendly, helpful and accommodating and we expect they will continue to make progress in making this a very good motel.
