WE WILL NOT GO BACK
By i-Tv Guru, 1/25/10
It was party time and at 1:30 am to 3:30 am the hallway will filled with doors slamming, people yelling, and a great time was had, except for the people that were trying to sleep.... tried my family make's there way to the generic continental breakfast (which was OK) then when my son went to the restroom, he got struck in the stall, and when he tried to free himself he pulled so hard that the door whacked him in his face- causing a red welt and his glasses bent... when Management was told we were given a luke-warm apology with no hint that the problem would be fixed.

I'll never stay in an EconoLodge again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/22/08
This is the second Econo Lodge I stayed in. The first one (Belton MO) was horrible, so I was mad at myself when I waited till August to try and book a room for Parents' Weekend--also a football weekend-- at KU. The Econo Lodge was all that was left at a price of $107.96 per night (AAA!! rate) before taxes. The good things: it was a room we spent little time in and the bathroom and towels were clean. Beds okay but old, well worn linens. Bad things: The carpet was filthy and we found two cockroaches in the room. The tv picture was fuzzy and volume could hardly be controlled. No chairs for the small, square table in the room. Bathroom door lock was missing. Continental breakfast was not ready at time posted each morning. Overnight staff person was rude and more concerned about getting her accounting done than helping anyone. All in all, this room was not worth over $100 per night. There is definite price gouging going on here when demand for rooms is high. I will never stay in an Econo Lodge again, and I would never recommend this motel to anyone.

Needs to not list ammenties they dont have
By Michele, 6/24/08
We stayed there from Fri to Sun. The ammenties listed, refrigerators and microwaves in all rooms, which were not there. We were excited about getting in the pool. Well we got there and the pool was filthy. Bird droppings on the water, none of the filters were working, couldnt see the bottom of your feet from the cloudiness, the pump wasn't even on. The staff was nice. Check in wasn't bad for us, but others beg to differ. Promised a breakfast buffet on Sunday, there was none of that.

Mother of the Bride
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/08
My daughter and son-in-law recently held their wedding reception at the Econo Lodge, in Lawrence KS. The hall was beautiful. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was wonderful!! Our guests truly enjoyed themselves. We’ve heard nothing but praise about the wedding and reception. Being the mother of the bride, I had an extended stay at the Econo Lodge. I stayed 5 days and 6 nights. Not only was the room I stayed in comfortable, it was clean! Everyday housekeeping made sure I had everything I needed. Being a cake decorator, I had the honor of decorating my daughter’s wedding cake. This was going to be quite a challenge, living 300 miles away and not being able to use my own facilities. The staff at the Econo Lodge bent over backwards to accommodate me. The kitchen staff was phenomenal! I know how hard it is to have strangers “doing their own thing” in “your” kitchen; it can just make a person crazy. I’m here to tell you, there were a lot of family and friends in and out of the room we decorated the cake at! Not only did every one who worked in the kitchen not go crazy, they each introduced themselves and made sure that I knew they were there to help me in any way. Justin and Leo, thank you for everything! Tom, I can’t thank you enough for all your help. You and your staff really out did yourselves!! To all staff that had a hand in helping the Knoll-Kritikos wedding, THANK YOU! Our stay at the Econo Lodge will always be a great memory. I am going to tell everyone I know how very accommodating all of you were. Sincerely, Erica Knoll

Going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/08
My husband and I really enjoyed our time at the Econo Lodge. We stayed in their suite with a jacuzzi in the bathroom with a stand up shower. I felt the room was a decent price (I'm a bargin shopper, it could always be less), we paid a little over 200.00 for 3 day, 2 nights. I wish the jacuzzi would have been cleaner (but I took my own cleaner anyway), and the food selection a litter better (buffet would have been nice). That being said, the service was excellent, and I love good customer service. All in all we had a relaxing time, had privacy, and a much needed rest, we'll be back end of May, thanks!

Best Econo Lodge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/08
I travel alot with work and have stayed at other econo lodges. But this one is more of what you would expect if you were staying at a 3 or 4 star hotel. My biggest gripe when staying at a hotel is the cleanliness of the rooms. They go beyond what you would expect I trashed the shower after working. And when I got back it was as clean as if nobody had used the shower. Useally at other hotels there would still be black marks or something but here no it was white as snow. I was talking with one of the employees and I guess the hotel was just sold and the new owners are remodeling the place. All I can tell you is for the money this was an excellent value.

Do NOT stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/29/07
The room was filthy, window screen was broken and hanging, bathroom door was broken, bathroom faucet was broken. There was garbage by the doorways and exits and there were abandonded cars in the parking lot. The hallways smelled and the carpets were dirty. The security doors were broken and the management was terrible. To top it off, they overcharged our credit card. Don't even stay here as a last resort.

Bad Experience
By Donna, 5/23/07
We stayed at this motel from Friday to Sunday, First I understand that the hotel was full for Graduation but none the less our room was dirty and smelled awlful. We booked our rooms in approx. 3 months advance. I'm sorry but at $110.00 a night our rooms should have smelled good and been clean, my sheets on my bed had not been changed and there was at least 10 black hairs in my bed that was disgusting, the blanket had pink candy stuck to it. and when I asked for a clean blanket they brought me a foam rubber blanket that must have been at least 20years old. I have never seen one tlike that before and I am close to 50.This establishment gives a bad name to all the Econo Lodges. I will never stay at one again. I think with the money you made this weekend there should be some new sheets, blankets, carpet, ect. Definately needs renovating. Thanks for looking into this matter (Room 120,122,124) May 18-21

Don't stay there!!!
By Cean, 3/28/07
The hotel was in a very convienent location but that was the only good thing going for the EconoLodge. We came up a day early to rest and not be tired for the next day's competiton for our daughter at KU. Instead we were up all night from noise levels so high no one on our floor (2nd) could sleep. After numerous calls to the front desk nothing changed. The 2nd night was a different desk clerk who finally got the hotel quiet at midnight. She was much appreciated. Floors were dirty and hallways were very dark and dreary. I would not recommend this as a place to stay.
