Comfort Inn North Dartmouth, North Dartmouth

We stayed one night in the Comfort Inn in North Dartmouth Massachusetts on our way to a vacation rental in Cape Cod. During the night a window on our van was smashed and valuables were stolen. The woman at the front desk claimed that this had never happened before at that location. When talking to a police officer to file a police report we learned that we ours was one of several cars that were broken into at this hotel that evening. He also indicated that this was a relatively frequent occurrence there. The policeman said that cars with out of state plates were the preferred target because the owners often will not prosecute if the thief is caught. He also indicated that the North Dartmouth police would not be doing much to investigate and no detective was called to the scene. The hotel appears indifferent to the risk to customers vehicles and belongings as no effort has been made to make the parking lot secure. Our one night stay at this hotel cost us over $1000.
