Room Dirty and bad odor. Manager Rude: No Climate Control or Air-Conditioning.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/08
My husband and I stayed for two nights (not our choice, our employer did this through Expedia and paid an outrageous $150 per night + tax ($168). The hotel room is small and smells, HBO (Human Body Odor). The air-condition temperature was controlled by the manager. We came back on Friday evening after working in a trade show to find that the motel room temperature to be warm. I asked the manager to turn the climate control up; she told me that the temperature is already on high. Told her this is ridiculous because it feels like 90 degrees inside the room. The manager then told me to leave instead of trying to solve the problem. The same night we looked at our bed sheets and found dirt and/or little dead bugs and human hair. Since it was midnight and the manager’s office was closed, at this time, we decided to bring this to the manager’s attention next morning. We went to sleep in our clothes lying on top of the bed spread. At 10:20 the following morning we informed the manager of what we saw. She took a short tone with us and told us that she wanted us “out in 5 minutes” and that she would charge us the full 2 days even if we get out before checkout time (11:00 AM) at the end of the first days stay. This is plain thievery and so we insisted that the manager put this in writing, which she did not. So we took two sheets from the maids cart and changed the linens ourselves. Then we went and bought a large can of Lysol and sprayed down every surface in the room which helped somewhat with the order. I would never stay at this motel if this was a personal vacation and employer should never book their employees here. For $150/night, there are better choices elsewhere. The room was filthy and smelly. The bed-sheet was dirty and the manager was rude and scheming; attempting to cheat us out of what was paid for because of the mere voicing of a valid complaint pertaining to odor in the room and hair and bugs in the bed. This is THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN and I wouldn’t recommend it, except to someone that I didn’t like.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!
By Madhu T, 11/05/07
The hotel is very average. I had booked 5 rooms for 5 couples for 1 night. All 5 parties occupied the rooms, and we all paid separately for 1 night on our credit cards. When I received my statement from the credit card company I was charged for 3 rooms. When I called the manager was extremely rude and insisted that 2 parties did not show up. She would not listed and kept hanging up on me. She would not let me talk to the owner. I would not recommend this hotel at all. They are very unethical and dishonest.

Definately would return!
By Gerald, 08/22/06
Great value and well located. The room was attractively decorated, and carpet, walls, sheets, and bedspread were clean and spotless. Continental breakfast offered pastries, cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, juice, and coffee. Free highspeed internet.

Hot!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/06
This hotel is o.k if you don't like to control the temperature in your room. It was about 90 degrees in our room and the temp is controlled by the front desk. When asked what I could do if I was unhappy with my room I was told I could leave. This was 10 minutes into my stay. He said He couldn't call his manager and said I should try to call her the next day with no gaurantee of a refund. For 100 dollars this place will not be on my to do list again!

flea-bag hotel-Avoid Rm 102
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/06
The Redwood Inn, Room 102 to be exact, has a FLEA PROBLEM! Staff were very snippy about this when told about it, took $10.00 off the room, and didn't even apologize. When a motel accepts dogs, Cleanliness should be a priority but it apparently is not at the REdwood. This motel room was dirty and I did not enjoy fleas jumping on the sheets and myself! We even took fleas home in our suitcases! I do not recommend this motel unless you like itching, scratching, and worrying about taking this filth home with you to your own home. (4/06)

It was easy place to stay and go out to the wine country for the day. It was inexpensive...more money to spend on wine.

Can take the dogs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/05
This place was pretty basic, but allowed dogs, which is a bonus. I gave it average ratings, because it was maybe a teeny notch above a Motel 6, but had a little pool and a grocery store right across the street. The shopping area (with the store) is undergoing contruction and made the location not so quiet (May 29-30, 2005).

Great location!
By Suzi, 09/02/04
Simple and very affordable, yet right in the middle of Napa and wine country! Comfortable, clean, and cool rooms added to the quaintness of the little courtyard and pool. Staff were always very kind and were certain that we were well taken care of.
