Good Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/06
Hotel is old with very cramped stuffy rooms and none too comfortable mattresses. Location is right across from the pier so we were pleased with that. Staff was friendly. The room came with a complimentary full breakfast, but it was horrible and we couldn't eat anything except the muffins and cereal. Too expensive for what you got.

Some good...Some bad.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/06
Overall a good experience...The room more than adequately met the needs of this family of 4--with a refrigerator, microwave and safe as bonus features. Main concern: carpeting needed to be cleaned. Our feet were dirty just after showering! Kids enjoyed the pool. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Great location. Slightly overpriced. Overall the service was great...with the exception of the manager. She was curt and unenthused about helping us. Her staff more the made up for her attitude. Would probably stay there again...

On the cusp of mediocrity
By Atwill, 08/20/06
This is not too bad of a hotel. My reason for rating the hotel this low is that the desk workers were arguing with each other during check-in. And, within its category--budget hotels--there is some strong competition these days. The main attraction of the hotel is that it sits in a city at the northern end of the Redwood forest and the California coast. And, it is relativley cheap. Otherwise, it is a standard budget hotel, which has not seen much renovation in the past 20 years. It still has smoking rooms, which we were assigned and which smelled awful. But, there were no bugs to mention. The service was standard (with respect to me, although between employees it appeared pretty terrible). The room was basic. It lags a bit against modern budget motels, which can be found cheap and renovated. But, in a pinch, this hotel is serviceable.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/18/06
Service was excellent. Room was very clean. Indoor heated pool and hot tub was awesome. The family loved it. Free full breakfast every morning for a family of 5 was incredible. Had 5 items on a special menu to choose from, but still well worth it. We will be back!

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/05
I had trusted the AAA rating, as well as the promise of a full breakfast included. Never again! Have you ever seen scores of people fighting for a cup of coffee or some scrambled eggs? Everything was empty, and my family and I had to wait in line for the annoyed servers to re-fill, and then everything was empty again, because the quantities were not adequate to the mass of people waiting. A very bad experience, which I don't recommend to anybody.

Stained, Noisy, Dangerous Water
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/05
I would not say this was a good value for the money. There were large stains on the carpet. It was also noisier than I would have liked but the worst part was the hot water. It was dangerously hot. Our room was next to the laundry and the hot water that came out of the tap could scald someone. The water temp. in this room is not safe for children or the elderly.

Not Bad Not Great - a 1 nighter
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/05
Easy to find, just another typical motel room. Doors in hallway alert you EVERYTIME someone enters or leaves for you paranoid people. The restaurant next door is $$$ - drive 1/4 mile south on 101 to find some great seafood!
