The Lion's Got No Teeth!
It was the worst time of the year. It was dark nearly day and night and freezing ice-rain was pouring out of the sky. Even the stoutedst of Alaskans were tired of winter and waiting for it to pass. I think this is the over all mood of the Lion's Inn Hotel in Kenai, Alaska when I stayed there last spring. Like the weather, this hotel was stark, dark, and cold. The walls were very thin and the staff seemed to care a less that I was there. The fact that I had driven for five hours alone through hellish weather in inky darkness of the Alaskan winter was of little concern to the sleepy staff of the Inn. Of course, like I said, perhaps all our moods and points of views were effected by Old Man Winter's lingering hold on our sun starved psyches.
