Long term stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/07
I stayed at this motel for about 3 months when I first got to Spokane. I can honestly say that the ownership doesn't know their butt from a hole in the ground. The room I stayed in was immaculately clean thanks to Marzelle... Awesome Lady!!! Had it not been for Marzelle and her caring nature, my stay would have turned out to be a total nightmare!! Maybe the owners could take a lesson from her!!

Shangri La (Room 12)
By UNM Lobo Guy, 09/28/06
Shangri La Motel Staff, My name is Ryan. Currently I am staying in room 12 at the Shangri La Motel until Tuesday, October 3rd. When I checked into the Shangri La motel back on the night of Sunday, September 24th the motel impressed me. What impressed me was the friendliness of the motel staff, quietness, the non chain feeling of the motel, cleanliness of the interior/exterior and of the laundry facility. Since my check in, my view of the Shangri La has gone down hill. The reason for my change of mind is because room attendant (maid) service to room 12 has been non-existent and that is unacceptable. At all the motels that I have stayed at for more than a night they do spot vacuuming, take the trash out, making the bed, replace the old towels with new towels, and replace used cups with new ones daily. These are the benefits of staying in a hotel or motel and not your house. When I made my reservation back in late July, you quoted me a $290 price from the night of September 24th through the morning of October 3rd, totaling 9 nights. With me spending 10 days, 9 nights and $290 at the Shangri La I wouldn’t think it would be too much to ask if you did the following in the last sentence of the above paragraph. In late January of 2007 I will be making the move from Albuquerque , NM to Cheney , WA . At the time I will be working for a company that will have people come into Spokane , WA from time to time. These people will need a hotel/motel to stay at and so, if things improve for the rest of my visit, I will recommend the Shangri La to others and be a repeat customer. If things don’t improve, I definitely will not be back and I think you should refund some of the $290, which I have already paid in full. Thank you for taking these things into consideration. Hope to see improvements at the Shangri La soon. Please don’t hesitate to call me if you have any questions; my phone number is below Sincerely, Ryan

Good Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
Clean, Quiet, reasonable rates, and comfortable bed. I like the large closet so that I was able to hang-up all my square dance outfits. I was very appreative of the Staff. The were helpful and very courteous!

friendly little place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/21/06
This motel was very family oriented. The family suite was spacious, but the air-conditioner was only in one room and didn't effectively cool the rest of the suite. The staff could not have been nicer. The pool was small, but big enough to be fun for the kids.

Have stayed there since 1988
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/28/05
They are friendly and have been great over the many years. The place although older has always been clean and well looked after. It has always provided a homey atmosphere, is close to the race track, is quiet and been a great place to stay.

The Best Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/01/05
clean & affordable, but the best part is toby the manager. He is dedicated to service and goes way beyond the call to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. A true gentleman that takes his job seriously and does it well. We will always go back as long as he is there.Gaylen Bateman, Kennewick Wa.

shangri la motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/04
always nice and clean, quiet, good rates, friendly people, have stayed there numerous times. The only negative thing I can think of is the parking is a little small for larger vehicles (like full size pickup truck).
