7 reviews for Olympia Inn, Olympia
RUN AWAY from the dirty stinky rooms.
By B., 01/21/10
My wife and I worked out a discounted rate with one of the owners of the Olympia Inn because we were going to be in town for two months on business. The room they gave us was okay but it was quite dingy. We only paid for the first two nights in advance to make sure there were no bugs because we had received mixed reviews from the locals. After the first two days we decided to pay for a whole week. The day after we paid for a week they told us that we had to move to a different room ( they claimed that the room had been previously booked even though we told them we would be staying for up to two months when we got there ). The room we were moved to reeked of animal urine and feces. There was a spot in the middle of the room that had been urinated upon so many times that the carpet had been bleached from a dark scarlet to an off white. It took two cans of Lysol and an entire bottle of Febreze just to make it so we did not gag just walking in the room. The room was so scary I had to put on my shoes just to get off the bed to go to the bathroom. Needless to say we moved out of the motel asap. Later we talked to one of the owners and they told us we could have our original room back at the same discounted rate. When we got back into our original room we found that in the whole time we were gone from that room ( about a week and a half ) the sheets had not been changed. Now for the icing on the cake, the next day a different owner jacked up the price claiming that the discounted rate was for one adult only, even though the whole time they had been dealing with my wife and I as a couple. I am usually a calm and laid back guy, but the new owner I talked to was so rude I was almost moved to commit acts physical violence against this lying and deceitful sorry excuse for a human. Outside of that the internet cuts out every minute or so and the housekeeping is less than non existent. If you want to save some money stay in a urine drenched box in a damp alley, you will have a better experience. B.

I was the super cool hotel manager
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/09
As a hotel manager i was treated like crap, under paid and was placed into one of the rooms that had bed bugs i dont care if the owner reads this screw him and his business morals i did what i can to take care of the place but his scum bag ways was not my was so from a personal point of view and from a x manager do not stay stay there under no curcumstances pay the extra 30 bux and stay somewhere, where you wone get bite up by bed bugs and get sick like some guest that i wont mention, dear friends did not deserve to get the response that they brought the bugs and that if they werent allergic to the bugs they wouldnt have gotten bite up, pretty much saying its the guests fault they got bite up, and since im obviously stating that i was the cool manager which everybody knows, i dont care if the owner tries to use legal force against me for saying this cuz i have more dirt on that place then what anybody can imagine, well its not the hotels fault its the fault of the main man that runs it, the owner, cuz im tired of the guest saying that i was dirty when it was the cheap house keepers that dont now how to clean the rooms properly. screw that boss for making me pay for money that was stolen by someone he knew who took it, and what that person used the money for, but made ME pay for it myself, but KARMA will get that dude back, sweet karma, oh yea, well i have more things to say about this place but i got better things to do then to state the obvious. good bye

High price for an economy room.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/08
We used to stay here often because it was inexpensive compared to other motels in the area. Rooms are OK for sleeping. Last time I asked for a room I was told $75 was the cheapest room. I walked across the street and got a much nicer room for $71. The advertised rate of $52 is not accurate, according to the new manager.

worst motel desk clerk i ever encoutered
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/08
what i disliked the most about this motel is the trailerpark attitude and unfriendliness of the front desk clerks,i would advice the owner to carefully select his staff. i was treaded verbaly agressive, because it took me 20 min. more to load all my stuff in my car then the reenforced check outtime of 11 o'clock and after heavy arguing i finally got my $10 keydeposit back. Also this is not the cleanest place i have encoutered in all my 3rd world travels.

Be careful who you give you credit card!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/08
On the 16th of Jan. 2008 I stayed at the hotel. since I am a government worker I received a $45 rate and they told me that there would be a $10 key "deposit". Well I turned in my key to a young white gentlemen and he stated that since I payed for my room with a credit card that the $10 would be returned to my card. that never happened, they are they withdrew the whole amount, and since I was expecting a return I was giving them a reasonable amount of time (5day) to check back with them. To my suprise the gentlemen stated that there was nothing they could do. that the office hrs were from 8a-9p. yet when I went in there it was 10min till 8a and he stated it was fine. just imagine how many people rely on the good faith these people totally take advantage and make lots of money off of honest hard working people. PLEASE BEWARE!!! All these wrong doings: 1. I took the room thinking it would be decent but when i unloaded my car I noticed a drunk guy trying to enter into another persons room. 2. there was a small heated in the room that you had to place it next to you to get warmed up. 3. there was mold on the shower wall (will be notifying the Dept of Health) 4. the customer service is the worse 5. sheets that should be washed were dirty I had to use my personal planky 6. the walls look like they were thrown up on

Worst hotel ever, seriously
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/04
They actually kicked my group (3 people) out of their hotel for breaking curfew (yes, they actually maintain this - it is something like 1030pm on weekdays and 1130pm on weekends... we arrived around 1130pm on a weekday, off by only an hour).
We were staying in the hotel so we wouldn't have to drive back after going to a few bars in Olympia. We weren't loud at all, we made a specific point to make sure of this because you know how annoying hotel guests can be and we weren't one of them.
They refused to give us a refund, even though we had only checked into the room for about 4 hours. They called the police on us before they even asked us to come down to the lobby to talk to us about the situation - they just called OVER and OVER again to our room yelling at us that we broke curfew and the police would surely be there - it was next to impossible to try to get our overnight bags into our car because they wouldn't stop calling and yelling.
Under any circumstances I would stay at another hotel. The rooms were dilapidated, the views were non-existant (since there are no windows in the back of the room that faces the lake, no views). No elevator. No handicap access to my knowledge. Bad parking. Terrible management. No pool. Etc.
The Best Western across the street is infinetely nicer and I think only 6.00 more expensive.
