Our Place at the Beach, Long Beach

We like the proximity to everything like town and the beach, they always welcome our doggy, everything works and the staff is pleasant and accommodating. Try to find non pretentious lodging like this establishment that has been there forever.

Friendly staff, nice location, comfortable and cozy. A nice clamming weekend.

Great Place to get away and leave the city behind. The people are nice and will make sure you have everything you need. Great access to the beach and pet friendly

I have to believe the "good and "excellent" ratings were written by the owner/operators and/or employees. This motel is nothing like the reviews we placed our faith in. The staff bordered on incompetent, the rooms were old and not modern at all. The wood paneling was from year one and in horrible condition. Holes and gouges all over. The bathroom had NEVER BEEN REMODELED from when it was built. (apprx mid 60's) It was horrible. Silicone sealer splattered all over the place and the original tile work (pink and black) was cracked with chips falling out and grout missing. The sealer looked like it was applied by a 5 year old. The carpet was dirty and very worn and the room absolutely REEKED of disinfectent. Also the windows were in very bad shape and did not lock and close properly. That is a serious security issue. The doorknob and deadbolts on the entry door had NEVER BEEN CHANGED since they were originally installed. There is no way I would ever stay there again and I'd never recommend it to anyone. By the way.....Long Beach has really gone downhill in general. If you want a beach town experience go to Ocean Shores, Westport or just up the road to Ocean Park. Long Beach is nothing but a dirty, dilapitated tourist trap and their only intent and goal is to gouge the most money out of every visitor that they can. The prices were ridiculous and a family will have a very hard time affording to eat there.

I recently booked a room at Our Place at the Beach. While we were looking for economical, what we found when we got there was aweful. Being too late to cancel, we lost our money on the room. I did take pictures...the stairway was boarded up, as well as some of the rooms. I can do economical, but this was a little scary!

We just discovered this place last year on the internet. Sense, we've come down half a dozen times. We are really looking forward to coming down for the kite week. The people are great, we loved the Sauna and having two hot tubs was a big plus. While we were there this last time, it looked like they were putting in horse-shoe-pits!

i have stayed here over 35 times in 26 years. alwas clean, awsom svse close to town, and restraunts, and the beach. and has hot tubs, steam room, sauna room, exercise room, i go in all seasons give them a call. !!!

We stayed here because our normal Motel was full. It was very clean and we had a nice view plus we could hear the ocean and we had bug screens on our windows too. There is even a small window across the room so you can get a cross breeze without leaving your door open. The doors are very secure. They lock, have a deadbolt and a secuirty chain. AWESOME! All of the king size beds are upstairs and I can't tolerate stairs very well anymore :( I should not be forced to take 2 queen beds on the first floor because there is no disability service for the second floors. I hopped into bed and fell into the grand canyon. HUGE let down pardon the pun. I had back aches both nights. The bedding was super clean and nice pillows. Stay away from room 225 if you don't want to sleep in the grand canyon bed. LOL. Also note all of the rooms are now non smoking and everyone smokes outside. The second floor has a patio. Rooms 224,223,222,221 are all right infront of the second floor smoking patio. 225 is not right in front of it BUT you can hear the drunks screaming and cackling away at all hours while they take smoke breaks. Some chick from 116 was very drunk and stomping up and down the stairs from 116 to 223 she did this for hours. I was so HAPPY when they passed out. 116 was slamming her door the whole time we were there. The people in 117 came out and yelled at 116 and started to slam their doors. Oh have mercy.....They made this hotel a hard place to stay. I do recommend the hotel highly. The have phones to report serious problems if need be. It was the weekend and that is when most of the party people are active. This is why we travel durring the week..... Some rooms have a kitchen, but NONE have a king bed :( Our room was not put on the house keeping list so we never got our room cleaned. We got looked and funny for asking for clean towels and clean washcloths. Make sure when you check in to be put on the housekeeping list. However this is the first place we have stayed that I did not have to clean the room myself.

We love staying at this great place, it is very family friendly, clean, quite and close to everything. The value is top notch, the spa's and hot tubs and exercise rooms at very clean and well maintained. We have stayed as a couple several times or with a family group of 10. It is always the same. GREAT!

Not very many people know about this place, but let me tell you! We stumbed onto OPATB while driving around and had the best time of our lives. Our Hoste was polite and went beyond the call of duty when ever we asked for something. When they say, "Our Place is Your Place," their right.
