disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/11
We stayed over night and were very disappointed. The service was not friendly. It was very crowded. VERY crowded. You have to pay $15 just to get to the resort. I paid full price and yes, the room had a lake view but overlooked the boat launch. The room was out-dated, a small TV, it didn't feel very clean. I wish we stayed some place in Page instead of staying here. Page is a cute town.

The perfect wedding spot!
By sea-qz, 9/15/11
My husband and I just recently got married at Lake Powell and they did a PHENOMENAL job!! Maybe the hotel itself isn't anything spectacular, but the views are amazing and the staff that worked with us for the wedding went way above and beyond what we imagined or could have hoped for. I planned the wedding from out of state which made me a little nervous, but the catering sales manager Meagan Schultz was very helpful and always timely in responding to my emails. Then Meagan went on maternity leave and handed everything over to Ashley Boyle (also catering sales manager), and the transition was very easy. Ashley was so wonderful and helpful every step of the way. She was on top of everything, and anything we needed or asked for she made sure we were taken care of and happy. All of the staff that helped was just great, even the bartender at the wedding was dancing behind the counter -- I loved it!! The front desk lady Dee was a sweetheart too, and helped me out so much, even offering her own personal items to help me. We are so grateful to Bubba Ketchersid as well. He is the general manager for the houseboat rentals. He not only took great care of us and helped us with our houseboats, but he also married us!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the Lake Powell staff --- especially Meagan, Ashley, Dee and Bubba. You all made our beautiful day and stay that much more amazing, and we will always be grateful. Oh and one more thing... he doesn't work at the resort, but if you need a photographer, Chadwick Fowler is AMAZING!!! You can check out his work for yourself at his website (modernweddingscenes) -- I promise you will not be disappointed!!

Sorely Disappointed in \"Resort\"
By Tara, 7/30/11
Beautiful local. Gorgeous. Otherwise, the room smelled, the sliding door didn't work well. When it rained heaviliy one night, many rooms had heavy flooding and guests had to bunk with other guests. Fortunately, many of us knew each other (this was an incentive event) and were able to do this. Service was marginal. SO disappointing. I don't recommend this place and wouldn't return.

Stay somewhere else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/28/11
This was not a resort, it was more like Super 8 on The Lake. Our 'lakeview room' was really a 'marina view room'. Stained carpeting, chipped paint, old and very loud air conditioner, horrible service and way too expensive rates. We chose this location because of the convenience to the boat tour we took to Rainbow Lake (which was very nice). We paid for 'a perfect stay' for two nights and $100 resort credit (which really reflected the rates racked up $100). My advice is to take the time to find a nicer place to stay in nearby Page. $800 later for two nights and one boat tour, I wish we had! This location is 10 miles from Page - so not convenient to restaurants or other activities.

Terrible visit-not a resort at all
By joe, 4/13/10
The rooms are two star quality, the facilities are in need of many reapirs-swimming pool, walkways, hall ceilings and the Service is just terrible. Upon arrival could not find our reservation. Described the two pools yet one was full of debris and under some construction. We were awakened by housekeeping at 8:30 in the morning. We could not get waited on in the main dining room-no water,no menu and after 20 minutes No Service. One of the major walkways to the Marina has settled and has a 5 inch gap that can easily be trpped over-unsafe for children or seniors.

WINTER VACATION PACKAGE?
By FreedomForAll, 4/14/08
THE Worst part of my family's spring trip was staying at the Lake Powell Resort and Marina. We paid for a Family Winter Vacation package Which was supposed to include, two night stay, $50 food credit, and an all day boat rental.. Unfortunately, We did not get to go out on the boat due to strong winds. So, I was told that I would be credited $75 for the boat rental which was normally rented for 180/a day. When It was time to check out I was told that I would not receive any credit for the money I had spent at there restaurant,(THE DRIFTWOOD LOUNGE). (What happened to the $50 food credit?) I was told "NO SIR, WE GAVE YOU $50 BOAT CREDIT AND $25 FOOD CREDIT A TOTAL OF $75" I exclaimed that I had a $50 receipt from there restaurant and that they told me i was entitled to a $75 boat credit, for the day before, a total of $125. I was very upset but, I had both people behind the counter arguing with me. After arguing for sometime I just paid the amount they said was due. I just couldn't believe, I spent $50 at there restaurant eating what was probably the worst sh-t I've ever eaten and It took them for ever to serve us. I felt bad for my kids and my wife that we had to spend two nights here. I can only hope that when someone else plans a family trip that includes the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, Sedona, etc. that they don't stop by this place on there way to Zion National Park. It was kind of like sliding in sh-t on your way to paradise.

The location is the only good thing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/21/07
The only good part of this "resort" is the location. We had a lakeview room and the view was great. The rooms were old and smelled funny. We asked for the maid to come and clean the room again, hoping to get rid of the smell, but she just made it worse. Some of the pillows were also stained and we had to request new ones to be brought over. There was no easy beach access from the room. We had to drive down to find somewhere to set up our stuff for the day. Over the phone, the resort employee told us there was somewhere we could set up within walking distance of our room and not to worry: this is not true! Expect to drive somewhere if you plan on sitting on the beach or renting watercraft. If going to the Lake Powell Resort, don't expect too much. They use the term "resort" liberally and to try and make it sound better than it is. I have stayed at Motel 6's that were cleaner and newer than this place. Make sure to spend the extra money and get the lakeview room, because that's the only thing that made this a 3-star review.

Cant wait to go back
By Deanna, 3/10/06
LOVED Everything. I cant wait until my son is old enough to enjoy it. Even though the staff said at his age he would. The Kitchen staff is very accomodating. Thank you for the great experience, Chef!

Be Prepared for fustrations
By Cindy, 5/30/05
Staff did not know what to do with the package deal that the resort sold us. We were very fustrated from the time we checked in tell we left. Delays checking into to hotel, keys that didn't work, know one knowing what to do with vouchers for tours, long wait at resturant and slow service. Tours were great and would do trip again, but would stay in Page at hotel and boiik tours seperately, not in package. Also I have stayed at nicer hotel for less money...
