Wow! Just driving up to this Lodge is impressive! Wind your way through stunning vistas, deer, and 178 acres of rippling grass and trees and you will arrive at a striking lodge that is also an art gallery.
You are warmly met by Jeffry and given a tour of the premises and then shown to your beautifully decorated room. Each room, hallway and space in the lodge is filled with wonderful local art that ranges from water colors, to collage, to statues, to jewelry and pottery.
Our room had its own patio and the bed was kingsize and very comfortable. I can't understand how one of the reviews on this site said that there were outdoor bathrooms, as this is an upscale lodge with wonderful breakfasts, maid service and mainly thoughtful amenities.
As this lodge is set just outside of Silver City it is TOTALLY peaceful and serene with a star display at night that will take your breath away. The lodge used to be run by the Nature Conservancy and so you can delight in trails that will take you all over the extensive property.
Two fireplaces are in the main room with leather couches and deep upholstered furniture, The dining room has private tables and a beautiful patio that you can have your breakfast on in warm weather. Tea and coffee as well as iced citrus water is available all day long, and if you have special needs, just ask as the staff is friendly and accommodating.
The location is great: just five minutes from the old town in Silver City. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The food is excellent. The art is fun and interesting. The staff and Jeffry are warm and friendly. What more could you want? Indoor bathrooms? Yes, they have them with all the rooms!
As far as we are concerned, this is the only place to stay in Silver City! Give them a call and say that Page and Phill recommended you.
