Worst weekend ever. Expensive and unsanitary!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/11
This was one of the worst weekends ever. We paid for a hotel room at full price, and access to the hot springs themselves cost another $25/person. Who would go to Wally's Hot Springs and NOT want access to the springs themselves? To have to pay in addition to the hotel stay was price gouging, plain and simple. The hot springs themselves were unsanitary. I saw hairs and skin flakes floating around me. We lasted no longer than 10 minutes before sucking up the $50 charge and getting out of there, praying not to have resulting skin rashes. After complaining to management, they laid all the blame on a recent management change over, etc... I'm sorry, but there is no excuse for the poor conditions of the hot springs we experienced. I want my money and my weekend back.

We can't wait to go back!!
By sissy, 9/16/10
We bought a timeshare back in 03 & at the time the resort was starting to expand. We loved the hot springs & spa. The resort has gone through problems with Celebrity but is now back to business. We have a very nice 2 Bdrm standard suite for a week rent in Nov. 26,2010-Dec. 3,2010 if anyone is interested. Sleeps 6-8 people. For more information go to Craig's list.

WORST RESORT EVER!!!!!
By Quack Detector!, 5/23/10
Reserved suite @ David Walley's Hot Springs & Spa "Resort" in Genoa, Nevada near Lake Tahoe through Interval International membership. This was the WORST resort experience we have ever had in our world travels. Upon arrival, the fireplace wasn't working, the front desk closed @ 7PM and we could not access wireless Internet for business. The bedding was the lowest of the low end (Motel 6 would be an upgrade) - worn out, dirty w/ yellow stains, cheap synthetic materials and FULL OF LONG BLACK HAIRS!!!! The mattress was hard as a rock. There are honking geese outside the rooms that would in no way allow one to sleep. We were never able to utilize Internet service (even after paying their $40 up-charge) and refused to stay at this resort under such filthy, low end conditions. Our planned one week vacation to relax and heal in the hot springs was ruined as we were forced to check out because of the many poor conditions outlined in this review. Please don't believe that David Walley's is a "Celebrity Resort" - what a farce!!!!!!! No celebrity would go near the place!!!!

We love Walley's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/07
We live locally and trade our time share. We really enjoy spending time at David Walley's and think the staff is VERY nice. I read the comments and was very suprised. I have never seen a dirty room, but when someone is unhappy they see things as really bad. They are redoing the pools which is great since they were in need of that. I always reccomend family and friends to stay there when they are coming up. It is expensive but I think it is worth it.

too expensive for locals
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/07
we would love to go every weekend! great, healthy meals. too expensive for just the pools. and it is getting worse. been coming for years, they'll still stick it to ya. now charging for towels? squaw valley gets our biz & all of our family & friends. there are too many natural hidden sweet spots, like sierraville, tahoma, and many more. don't over-charge your locals, because we keep you open, off season. When the cali's go home.

This is definitely a mixed bag . . .
By Sheryn, 7/10/06
Located approximately 15 miles from Lake Tahoe, this resort is easily assessable to golf courses, fine dining, the lake and surrounding amenities. The spa, mineral pools and swimming pools are spotless and the grounds well kept. Having said that, in terms of personal service this resort certainly knows how to "go on the cheap". Your room is supplied one set of towels per person for three days - should you need extras, $3 please. The toilet and facial tissue were of such poor quality that one of our first stops was at the nearest market. As for the 4-cup coffee maker, the resort provides one serving; additional coffee for the tiny pot - $1.50 per pack. Unfortunately, the mattress and the box spring were not the same size, necessitating the use of unfitted bottom sheets, those and the mattress cover being tucked into a smaller box springs - good luck with a good night's sleep. Luckily we took along a travel mirror and iron - the lighting is poorer than anywhere we've stayed, the iron non-existent but I'm sure it could have been provided for a fee. This resort needs to pay attention to detail in order to qualify as a "resort and spa" - otherwise, it is mineral springs and swimming pools with uncomfortable beds and cheap amenities.

We like to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/05
We stayed here as exchange during July, 2005. We checked in very late (after 2am). The security guard checked us in. He was very, very nice and courteous and informative. Due to the weather pattern during summer, there was a very strong wind at certain time of the day which was a bit uncomfortable... We had a 2 bdrm unit reserved. However, the door between the 2nd b/r and the l/r was locked up. The unit was clean, but there was a hole in the ceiling in the m/b - smoke alarm was removed for whatever reason. I called the front desk immediately. My first call was forgotten. I had to call again. This time maintenance person came right away. I do think that this place needs a better attention to the details, but overall the place is a very relaxing place. We tried their restaurant. Contrary to the many review we read, the food was just ok and totally over-priced. Personally, I do not recommend it if you are used to true gourmet dining. The hot spring spas were great. There are many spas - one or two of them are out of order at a time. I think this is due to so many people push buttons for jets and whilrpools without too much care, therefore, they break down after awhile. I enjoyed one of the spa treatments they offer. It was fine. There is downtown of Genoa near by. It's a cute place. The bakery there was very good. There is a lot of nature to enjoy around this resort. We are planning to go back there for Bald Eagle watching in February. There are some very negative reviews abour this resort. I have read them before I went there. Overall, this reosrt was fine for our stay.

Look Elsewhere
By Chris, 10/12/05
I stayed there on a timeshare exchange. The room was a dump. I have attached some pictures to give you an idea of what my get away vacations turned into. The room only had a stand up shower, no bathtub. The facilities were a mess, look at the port-a-potty other buildings. The TV stand was designed to hold a 32-inch TV and they only had a 16-inch TV. We told "Lance" the staff, the managers, and the general manager about these problems and the toilet that rocked back and forth. They told me that there were no rooms for us to move into other than the one we were in. Which was a LIE because the room next door to us was empty. Quintus Resorts should send in a rescue team to fix the physical problems with the hotel as well as the lack of service. For those wanting to go there to experience Lake Tahoe. Don't go to Walley's, itÂ’s a 30-minute drive away using narrow switchbacks. Want to go swimming in the natural springs. Don't, the facilities are old and when we looked at the little pools, they were filled with leaves and were not taken care of as one would hope. Save your money, don't invest, look elsewhere. David Walley's Resorts is not worth your time.

Beautiful area - fun for family or couples
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/05
The resort is in a beautiful location at the literal foot of a mountain. The hotsprings were numerous and landscaping was designed to make them feel private. The staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was excellent and well staffed. The rooms are beautiful, large and tastefully appointed. My children and I had a great time. Grounds and outdated buildings have all been refurbished. Hot springs feel soooo good. Only suggestion - make the workout room larger. It is currently in an historic building, which is cool, but too small. My daughter had a facial and loved it. Priced out as average for spas.
