Would not take service dog
By ,
They say they only allow a service dog in one of their rooms no matter what rooms are available and if that room is taken you cannot stay there with a service dog. Discrimination!!!!

Nice place to stay overnight.
By ,
We stayed in a River Unit at this resort, which is basically a hotel room, that feels like a small cabin, that is right by the river. We were looking for a cheap place that is on one of the main roads that go through the town of Estes Park. This was one of the cheapest we could find, we opted for the River Unit because it looks nicer then the regular rooms. The Unit was pretty clean, and looks pretty decent. It gave me that log cabin feel. The fire place was a nice touch, however the fire place tool set was falling apart. The bathroom sink required some adjusting with the hot water valve to get the hot water, but there were no problems with the shower. We had the corner unit right next to the river, and so that made it pretty quiet and a nice view of the river from the front door of the unit. Having the patio type furniture righ outside the unit makes for a nice morning breakfast during this time of year. Did not eat at the restaurant that was on the site, so can't rate that, however, it seemed like it was a little pricey. Staff was nice and most helpful. With the pricing of the hotels/lodging in Estes Park, I think this place was pretty decent for the price you pay. Would stay again in a River Unit.

Spend the extra $ and stay someplace else
By ,
We have stayed at Nicky's in the past, and were not blown away. The furnishings are adequately average. The water damage and peeling paint in some areas is easy enough to overlook. Be sure to stock up on your toiletries before you check in. Complimentary items for your shower experience are not always stocked in the rooms; if they are, you can expect magazine style free samples. They use rubber/plastic mattress covers which can make sleeping a sweaty ordeal, and the beds are not comfortable. It can be more quiet outside of the room than inside if there are other guests within your assigned area. Additionally, Nicky's rooms have sliding glass doors and blinds rather than a solid door, which offers little privacy. Even with the less than cushy accomodations, we felt as though the lodging plus dinner package was too good to pass up, and decided to stay again. WHAT A MISTAKE. We retired to our room for the evening after the office closed for the day, and ran into a serious problem. Be warned: if you have a problem after hours, you can forget about reaching anyone. No one answers the after hours phone number. Additionally, the high school girls employed by the management are apparently not empowered to do anything other than answer the phone, check in and check out the guests.
