This hidden gem is a great deal!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Karakahl Inn and will definitely return! If you’ve read any of the other reviews, you’re probably feeling a little wary, but the thing to keep in mind is that you’re going to pay about $50 a night, which is a steal for a hotel room. Just go into it understanding that the reason the price is so low is that a lot of the extras and the pizzazz that this hotel featured in it heyday are gone. You’ll still get a spacious, clean room and bathroom. You’ll probably have minimal neighbors (and minimal noise), and if you arrive with a sense of humor, you’ll have fun! We got a kick out of all the derelict touches, like the turbine engine-like fan in the bathroom, the florescent “Frank Lloyd light” that ran the length of the room, and the gi-normous abandoned pool. Parts of the hotel look haunted, which I kind of loved. The location was ideal, the slanted wood ceiling in our room was very cool, and of course, the architecture of the rest of the place was interesting. The beds were comfy, the shower was warm (not hot, but comfortable), the host was endearing, and the TV worked just fine.
