Apple Tree Inn, Indianola

Our room smelled of cat urine. The beds were made, but were soiled completely through the mattress pad. We asked for a different room and were denied. Finally, the front desk came and changed the bedding after asking me to do it. When I asked the owner managers for compensation, they refused and mocked us saying "Those linens weren't soiled, just worn out." They then preceded to tell me to "Tell all of your friends not to stay here, we don't care." I'm hoping that this post saves someone else the horrible misfortune of an incredibly nasty place.

Still use the standard key and it sometimes took effort to make it work. There was an odor in the hotel which I coldn't figure out. I was glad I brought a candle to cover it up. I left an item and the hotel and when I called they would not take the time to mail it to me. I had to find another method to retrieve it.

Overall the motel pretty old but the staff seems like they are trying to update the place. There are microwaves and fridges in the rooms. They are friendly and when asking for more towels were prompt. The motel is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. It's not a hilton but works for this small town.

Checked in on 02/03/07.No Heat. asked manager for new room or heat. Went to wedding reception and came back to a space heater in our room. Bought a pop from the machine. It was warm. (at least something was warmer than our room.)Ice machine ws broke. Called the front desk and the clerk told us to come down to the desk and she would give us ice. No refund on pop. Was no overly cooperative in the service end. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
