Not Reliable!

With a reservation guaranteed by credit card, one would expect a room upon arrival. I requested a handicapped room, accepting a smoking room as it was all that was available. The discussion about the room took quite a while, so there should have been no mistake. When we got there, a little after dinner, we were told "the" handicapped room had been given out that morning, leaving us to locate a room at the last minute. We were offered a standard room (which smelled) with a $10.00 discount, but my wheelchair could not get to the bathroom. The desk clerk was not helpful, and management would not be available until the beginning of the week. While I realize that these are privatly owned, I will be seeking recompense from corporate over this. Very bad way to run a hotel...and I drove OTR for 15 years, so I have stayed in a lot of hotels! This was the worst!
