Comfort Inn Metro Airport, Romulus

The Lobby was very clean and staff professional. The grill was excellent. Eating area was medium to large and had a high class restaurant feel to it. It was very clean and the continental breakfast area was magnificant. It extended along a 28 to 30 foot wall. The assorted donuts were from Dunkin' Donuts, which were larger than the usual donuts that hotels have. Delicious!! Plus you can cook your own walffles and pancakes, if you desired. The rooms were clean and smelled really good. I also had a refrig and Microwave oven. You usually do not get that at 49.99 a night. On the down side there was debris under the beds, small toys, paper, bits of trash that had not been swept. Not a huge amount. The carpet was not as clean as I would have liked. The hotel had 2 computers, but one was not working and people had to wait in line for usage. Even so, It was worth the money. I would recommend it to others. And, I would definately come to this hotel again.

The hotel has a new restaurant and bar area. The hotel was clean and safe. Needs some updates to the inside hallways. The staff was helpful and friendly. The shuttle was on time to the airport. As always with any hotel, I was able to bargain a better price than what was quoted. I woud stay again without any hesitation.

Our last night at the Comfort Inn they lost power due to sever weather. As if this was not bad enough, no one took charge. The staff had no idea what to do and they let a "guest" or "friend of the staff" who was drunk get behind the front desk and ask anyone that would listen "Is there anything I can do to help you? I don't work here I'm only trying to help". She was both annoying and bothersome since she couldn't help and was only getting in everyone's way. Because the computers were down (no power) they had no way of know who was in which room, yet they still were admitting new guests to the hotel. Some of the new arrivals were given keys to rooms that were already occupied. They allowed guests to roam the hotel freely although there were no lights and everything was pitch black. This hotel has very poor management to say the least. I understand that this case is unual but you would think they would have a back-up plan in case of emergencies. I hate the thought of what would happen if they ever had a fire.
