College Inn, Greencastle

I read the other reviews and felt like we must have stayed at a different place. The lady at the front desk was surly. The room smelled so bad that we ended up sleeping in our car. The one review that stated the floor was softer than the bed had it right! My daughter just started at Depauw so I'm not sure where we will stay for family weekend but it definitely will not be here!

My son graduated 8 years ago...as a 4 year baseball mom, this is where we always stayed. Sounds like things haven't changed a bit! Not even the Price! Amazing! Clean place and close to the school which was the biggest priority, we stayed there almost every spring weekend for 4 years. Never a complaint. Owners were so nice and they still own the place I have heard.

Rather than go on toward Bloomington, I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice place to get a good nights sleep after a long car ride. If I ever travel that way again I will definitely return. The owners were very courteous.

If you are looking for a place to stay close to the DePauw campus, this is it! The owners are very accommodating and the rooms are clean. Don't expect fancy though - the rooms are very simple, but the location is perfect for a college visit.

My husband and I stayed there last night because our air conditioning went out and there is a heat wave in Indiana. We were pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Also the AC cooled off the room quite nicely within a few minutes of our arrival. Bathroom was tiny, but adequate. All in all very clean and not expensive at all. Great TV and was pretty quiet. Would stay there again.

My husband and I have two daughters who attend DePauw University and are very active girls. Because we live 4 hours away, finding a cheap, clean place to stay was very important to us. Over the past 4 years, we have stayed at the College Inn almost every time we visit the university (probably over 20 times now) and the rooms were great. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Greencastle.

Rooms are not fancy, but are more than adequate. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are very clean. The two rooms that we stayed in had both a small refrigerator and a microwave. The Tv's are good and the showers work well. The location is about a block east of the Depauw University campus - - right in the middle of town.

The bed was terrible,I think the floor was softer.You can not hardly lay on the bed. It is the loudest place I have ever stayed at.If sleep is an issue stay somewhere else.

We, the Samuel family enjoyed our stay at the College Inn. The management was fabulous. I will recommend this location to anyone who wishes to spend some time in Greencastle. The proximety to our duaughter's school(Depauw University) is walking distance from the hotel. This was so amazing, it took us only a few minutes transporting her things into her dom. I do wish all of management great sucess and prosperity at the College Inn. We'll definetly visit again. The Smauel Family.

This retro throwback to the 50's or 60's is a small but clean and comfortable alternative to the overpriced Walden or the chain motels in Cloverdale. We rented a King non-smoking room which was tiny, but the bed was very comfortable (firm) and the TV was large & clear. The room was well-lit with plenty of drawer space and a small refrigerator and microwave. The hanging space was crowded. The heater worked well. The bathroom was large enough, but the tub (with shower) was pint-sized and there was no counter space, but, overall, the bathroom was very clean and functional. Bring your own toiletries and blow dryer. My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised overall. None of the relative negatives were deal-breakers. If you want a comfortable place to get a good night's sleep in a retro "motor-lodge", this is a great value. We have booked it for our next stay!
