Basic amenities from a very friendly family.

I've stayed here for the last 4 or 5 years, always at the end of July. The building is old and has its scars; for example, you may see where the tub was caulked where it meets the wall. It's not a perfect bead, but the water goes where it's supposed to. When I take a shower, it's like being hit with a fire hose. The water pressure is high and the water is hot. I've always been given air conditioning, a double bed, TV, clock, and when I need one, a refridgerator. The curtains maybe a bit tattered and the carpeting is old, but they have been washed or vacuumed. You may find the door is a bit thin, but there is a dead bolt inside. Getting in requires a key, no magnetic card, or big block of metal on the outside and inside with a latch that resounds with a clunk. People from West Virginia are honest to a fault. That's not to say there are no theives about, but New Martinsville is a safe community.
You're about a 10 minute walk from a church or two, and a (super?) WalMart in case you've forgotten something or you want to have some pictures done.
The downtown area is about a 10 minute drive south where you'll find 3 restaurants run by individuals, not gigantic corporations. One of these has a bar downstairs. If you want the common glop, drive north about 10 minutes to find these.
This inn is run by a friendly family and you're liable to walk into the lobby and find yourself dodging a child or two. I'll be heading there in a day or two, and they have been most accomodating to hold a room for me during a very busy week on a very short request. In summary, the Budget Inn might be described as a Lonely Plant accomodation with basic amenities at a very reasonable price.
