Island Vista, Myrtle Beach

This has been our 4th trip to the Island Vista, & we will be back for #5. Clean, great loc, friendly staff, value = don't we all wish things were cheaper :o) ... Great family vacation spot in away from all other resorts but still in MB, not over crowded pools or beach. ......Minersville, PA

Me and my husband visited this hotel just after the spring breakers left. It was a beauty, a great location on the beach. The room and view was spectacular and the pools were great to relax by and everything was very clean. We will be back next year.

We loved the food and the view. Our family enjoyed the inside/outside pool and the beach. The view is just great! We have been there at least four times and the kids now, 10 & 13 y/o wants to go back. Myrtle Beach SC to them is Island Vista. I have been going to Myrtle since 1985. I look forward to going back and driving eight hours from Mclean, Va (DC area).

My parents come down every year in January to visit. We absolutely LOVE the Island Vista and truly look forward to coming back every year. The housekeeping staff is friendly and professional...they do a great job! I wish I could bring them home with me. The front desk staff is always smiling and happy to help me with whatever I needed from cab service to getting great deals to shows and attractions around Myrtle Beach. The restaurant has amazing food, great service and oh what a view! The pools and pool deck are spacious! I love that the outdoor pools have different levels so that the younger children can be in the same area as their older siblings. The location is superb. You are in a residential area so it is so peaceful and quiet but yet you are so close to everything at the same time. We have walked threw several other hotels and everything was just so built up and smooshed together that it was beginning to feel claustrophobic and we were just visiting friends! Really helped us realize how spoiled we are at the Island Vista. The rooms are also very large and nicely decorated! We loved the pillows and they were able to tell me where we could order them for own home! I cannot wait to go back!

Great Location, 10 minutes from St Rt 22, 4 minutes from Carolina Opry, surrounded by ocean front residences. Beautiful views, great restaurant $$$$, clean pools, good for families. Interior access for rooms, many different types of condo rooms available. Price is reasonable compared to other places on the beach. North Myrtle Beach is 9 miles north. Only negative I had was there was not a business office for computer access. WiFI was available, bring your laptop. We reviewed this hotel on the internet and selected it based upon the reviews and pictures. We did not go wrong. We will stay here again.

After checking out of a nasty hotel down the road, my husband and I stopped here. They did not have any rooms available but the lobby and hotel were so gorgeous. The staff was wonderful. The gentleman at the desk helped me find another room and offered for us to come stay there another time. I will def, be making reservations here in the near future. I was very pleased by the way I was treated and wasn't even a guest at this hotel. Thank you!

We would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is in a magnificent section of the beach amidst only small beach cottages and elegant homes. There is even a winding fitness path, sand dunes and all of that. Newly re done (we understamd) the hotel is gorgeous and close to nealry everything. Staff is good, cleanliness is excellent and it is just plain great. We like Myrtle Beach and would say thumbs up to this. We loved some of the great restaurants like Rioz, thoroughbreds and the buffets. Also had a great time on the Carolina Safari Jeep Tours and they even picked us up at the hotel. Also went to the Palace for a good show. We will return to Island Vista.

After a very disappointing stay at another resort in Myrtle Beach last year, we were very apprehensive about our stay at Island Vista this year. It's hard to judge something simply based on reviews on the internet but we were very pleasantly surprised when we got there. Everything was beautiful and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. My children loved the many pools and I especially liked the easy access to the beach right in front of the resort. It was like being on a private island... very few people on the beach at any time. I just wish we would have stayed longer. We had a blast!!!! Will definitely be back!

I go to the beach every year, and always try to pick a different place to stay. This year for our annual getaway, we choose Island Vista. The rooms were great (we had a 3 bedroom). They were very clean and spacious. The parking was great, because though you parked in a garage, you could park on the level of your room and walk right out to your car without getting on an elevator. The breakfast was great (try the sweet potato pancakes) and they gave us a $35 gift card to the restaurant, though it was for dinner only. Lastly, the staff went out of their way to accomodate us. On the first night there, one of my friends got lost, so they stayed on the phone with her until she was able to find the hotel. On the second day, my other friend's battery was dead, so one of the maintenance guys used his own personal vehicle to give her a jump. I would definitely recommend this for a family,or group of friends that want to get away. One more thing. The view was really nice (you must get an ocean front) and if you don't they have rocking chairs downstairs so you can simply sit out back and rock, while watching the sun set and rise over the ocean.

The staff at this hotel is wonderful. They are very friendly and willing to meet your evry need. However, the rooms need a bit more cleaning. We checked into the hotel and went up to our room. At first sight it appeared to be clean. I pulled back the sheets and it sand throughout the bed, the coffee pot still had coffee in it, and someones towel was left in the room on the kitchen counter. It is just the little things that make this a bad hotel. The pool area is awesome for a family with kids.
