10 reviews for Phoenix Greenvilles Inn, Greenville
Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/16/07
I've been going there for many, many years. (Probably 15 years). I really like the restaurant. Most of the rooms are good; little dark for business. My dislike, hard to work and do business in the rooms, unless you have a suite. I usually bring brighter lightbulbs. Some rooms are better than others, suites are the best. I love the restaurant; food is unique and service very good. That's the special treat there. Location is great as I fly into the airport several blocks away.

Nice Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/07
If your looking for a moderate hotel to stay at in Greenville, SC this is it. The rooms are clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. The courtyard is very relaxing. Make sure you eat in the resturant at least once during your stay. The food is excellent and they are know for their Angus Burger. The creme brulee on the dessert menu is to die for. You are also conveniently located to Haywood Mall and not far from Downtown. Just a hop onto I385.

How anyone could think this place is nice is beyond me!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
Undoubedtly THE worst place I have ever stayed in my life. Either this "inn" has several grades of rooms or the positive reviews contained on this site were made by its owners. The room was disgusting. The bathroom - which was very dated and 1960's in appearance - was filthy. I took a Kleenex and wiped it across the floor in an attempt to pick up some of the long black hairs covering the floor (which weren't mine!) and the Kleenex was black. The floor obviously had not been mopped in ages. The room itself was also very dirty and dusty. It appears that at some point an attempt had been made to upgrade the decor and bedding, but the room apparently hadn't been thoroughly cleaned since the carpet was installed as there was dust clearly visible coating the carpet. I also didn't like the fact that the door to the room opened to the outside, there was NO visible security anywhere and the locks were extremely flimsy. I ended up moving the dresser in front of the door! I've stayed at hotels all over the world and this definitely rates as THE worst. I'm told that this is a converted "Thunderbird Motor Lodge" that was built in the 60's or 70's. The management/owners really need to overhaul this facility and hire a housekeeping staff who CLEANS! I'll never stay here again.

Definitely the place to stay !
By Orlanna, 03/03/07
A friend recommended we stay at The Phoenix Inn while in Greenville on business. My husband and I fell in love with this Inn. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient and the food at the restuarant is superb! Whether you want to spend a romantic weekend here or you are traveling for business, this is the place to stay.

Downhill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/25/06
I have stayed at this hotel for several years in a row for an annual event in Greenville. I have always found it to be one of the nicest places to stay as far as staff and looked forward to the hotel almost as much as the event I went to. This year however was so very different. I made reservations for three rooms well in advance of the event. I asked for specific accommodations because of the people in my party who had some physical limitations. The front desk/reservations employee Chad could not guarantee anything as far as non smoking, first floor, etc. I called back to confirm that the reservations were indeed in place about five days prior to arrival and spoke with Chad and was again told that nothing was guaranteed. I requested a rollaway so that three people would not have to sleep in the king size bed that I was told was reserved for us, but that could not be guaranteed either. We arrived not feeling really sure if we would have a hotel room at all. When I voiced concern regarding the reservations, Chad offered very promptly to cancel them for me. I am very sad to see the decline of what used to be a very nice hotel. It is with saddness that I say that the Phoenix Inn used to be Greenville's Inn. It is not that anymore.

best deal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/05
I truly think the Phoenix Inn has more character than any other hotel/inn in Greenville. We keep all our visiting guest in the place plus hold our Christmas party at their location. The place just has a charm that reminds me of some of the hotels in Britain. The staff is always cordial and ready to help. I could go on but I think you can tell that I just truly like the place and sometimes even stay there when I have a load of guest and we just make it a festive pary. I'm a Greenville business owner but in no way related to the hotel.

Good place to stay in Greenville
By PamF, 05/18/05
This was a very comfortable hotel with a lovely "English country" decor in the main lobby and lounge area. A great place to stay, especially if you are visiting a student at Bob Jones Univ. Mention the university and get a special discounted rate.

Not as advertised.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/04
The ammenities for this hotel are definetly not as advertised. It is in much need of a renovation. The airconditioner was not cooling without being on the highest settings and that created a lot of noise. The showerhead did not let the water come through, even though the shower was on, the water ran from the faucet. Our reservations were made at Phoenix Greenville's Inn for a two bedroom suite. When we got there we were told there were not ANY suites - not just not available, but NO SUITES AT THE HOTEL.
the coffee they talk about that was left in the room were folger's singles!! the below came from the yahoo website as available for this hotel.
Property Info for The Phoenix Greenville's Inn - Greenville, SC
Room Amenities

 Refrigerator - NO, WAS NOT IN ROOM
 Bathrobes - NO, DIDN'T SEE
 Iron - YES, WAS SITTING IN FLOOR
 Microwave Oven NO, WAS NOT IN ROOM
 VCR (In Room) - NO, NOT IN ROOM NOR WAS CONNECTION AVAILABLE FOR DVD PLAYER AVAILABLE.

I like to think I can trust what is listed as the room amenities - but I guess I will have to start calling and asking if what is listed on the website is truly available in the room.

Below came from another website.......so 2 listings give micro. and ref. available - I didn't even ask about the Gym - bet it wasn't available either!!!!
Other Features: Microwave and Refrigerator Available, Guest Pass to Gold's Gym

Rating should be low stars.
