We arrived in the evening for our two day stay at this really remarkable Bed and Breakfast. The grounds were a great combination of natural and planned beauty. As soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed warmly by Paul, the Innkeeper, who really made us glad to be there.
Our room was spotless and was beautifully furnished with antiques of which our favorites were the writing desk and the armoire.
The breakfasts which we enjoyed the next two mornings were delicious and hearty. Once again Paul proved to be an excellent host. I don’t know when I’ve enjoyed breakfast more.
Our favorite spot in the lodge was the game room. It loaded with many board games and puzzles. We especially liked the Chinese checkers; the board and pieces were created from hardwood by a craftsman in California.
We recommend this lodge to anyone who is looking for a relaxing stay in a place where they are truly welcome.

Mountain Top Lodge is my favorite place to stay in Dahlonega - in fact I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's secluded enough to be really peaceful, and yet close enough to town to drive in for fun dinners. The area surrounding the lodge is breathtaking in the fall and I love the individual porches to sit out and bask in the beauty of the fall colors.
The first time I stayed at the lodge, I immediately enjoyed the welcoming hospitality and charm of the owner and the rustic character of the place. The breakfasts are great, one of the highlights. There's no where else I'd rather be in Dahlonega.
Wonderful hospitality. Great breakfast. Gorgeous mountain top property. The sunset was fabulous. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a comfortable setting this is it. We saw 8 deer on the grounds. Looking for crowds and night life? Atlanta is about 90 miles south.
This was the first time my husband and I stayed at a B&B. We usually stay at a Marriot Hotel because of the comfortable beds they have. I was very happy to find the bed at the Lodge very comfortable! We stayed in the Amish Room #9. The bed was a four poster covered with a beautiful cozy quilt. We had our own private deck overlooking the woods where my husband could smoke his beloved cigar. I throughly enjoyed the large spa tub in our private bathroom and now I am spoiled. The water was instantly hot, no waiting. It was the perfect way to relax after riding our motorcycle and hiking the trails during the day. We both laughed that we were staying in the Amish room yet we had a fancy whirlpool tub. :-) The room was cozy, clean, and decorated to period. We also had our own gas fireplace for quiet contemplation, warming our tootsies, and reading. It was a very relaxing room and private. Paul our host cooks up a hearty breakfast every morning. The guests meet in the dining room and you have your own separate table. If you are looking for quaint, quiet, and cozy, this is the place for you.
I stayed at this B&B several years ago and it was secluded and cozy.
The breakfasts were hearty and delicious.
You have to drive up a steep mountain to get to the lodge, but once there the lodge is comfortable and the hostess was very friendly.
