Americas Best Value Inn, Cambridge

This hotel has Good service, Good value, Good enough facilities. I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was extremely neat and very, very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room had your basic amenities including a microwave oven, fridge, coffee maker, etc. The bed was comfortable and had clean bed sheet. My bathroom was cleaned. I did get towels every day. Hotel is located near to Near University of Maryland, Cambridge.

The facility is pretty beat up and worn, but the room was large, neat, clean enough, and everything worked just fine. Can't beat the price, but no amenities here. They do offer coffee, and the vending machines had soft drinks (but not water) and snacks, at reasonable prices. There's an eatery in the same strip, so eating is not an ordeal. If you're looking for an upscale experience, this is not the place, but it is a solid value.

Since I was just passing through, I did a bit of online hunting to find the cheapest place in the area, and this was definitely it. It is on the busy through road with typical suburban sprawl, so you're not staying here for the ambience. It is very much a generic motel - clean and comfortable, but it lacks a clothes closet. It just has some pegs to hang clothes from. Otherwise it is like most every low end motel with low end furniture that shows just a tad bit of wear. This place got some bad reviews about being dirty, but I thought that I would inspect it for myself, and I found it perfectly clean. There is a liquor store next door which gives it a slightly seedy atmosphere. I saw no signs of any drinking, but it is always a potential with easy availablility. If I hadn't read some negative reviews, there would have been nothing here to give me pause. There is no Internet connection - I tried. I was told that the town itself was wired if I wanted to go downtown.

Holes in the walls, a bed as hard as a concrete slab, a burned out light bulb, used soap and hair left in the tub from a previous guest, a total of two towels & one washcloth in the bathroom, A very noisy and very loud pop and ice machine about 5 feet outside of our room which people used every 20 minutes during the night. Gee, what's NOT to like? I hated this place. It was possibly the worst room I have ever stayed in. We stayed here as it was the closest place to Blackwater National Wildife Refuge. Never ever again.
