Sunrise Motor Inn, Chincoteague

We would go back in a heartbeat!!!!!! The owners, husband and wife couldn't have been nicer. They helped us with directions, also a restaurant recommendation. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. We were there during the week and using the pool was sooo nice. Had it to ourselves both times. Decor not as trendy as a comfort inn for example, but beds were comfortable, nice tv. it suited our needs nicely. Nice place to stay and not as pricey as much of the lodging is in chingoteague island va.

The Sunrise is a "Mom and Pop" that while not super updated is clean, friendly, has wifi, has a nice in-ground pool, good location one block off maddox, (the road the new bridge takes you into town in), so close to everything, but not noisy. The price is lowest in it's class. Coffee in lobby. Staff is honest and helpful. Cute design touches. Why pay double the rate for a highrise, one floor motels are nice. Did I say cute, clean, comfortable beds and wifi? And actual keys!

This was our second time staying at Sunrise Motor Inn and would recommend it to anyone. It is very clean and is a great location(block off Maddox Blvd). The owners and staff are very nice and helpful.

We really enjoyed our time at the Sunrise motel. It was off of the main road and the kids loved the pool. The staff was extremely nice and housekeeping prompt and courteous. We chose this motel the first time without seeing it, but because it was so reasonably priced, we decided to give it a try. WE were not dissapointed. If you're looking for a great value and a great time, choose the Sunrise.

I have a couple favorite motels where I really like to stay, and the Sunrise is definitely one of the top two. The Sunrise is family run, everyone is so friendly and they bend over backwards to help if you need anything. I think my husband and I have stayed here about 12 times in the past 8 years. We have never been disappointed. The location is perfect, the rooms are big and comfortable, and on a clear night, you can even pick up Wi-Fi. Chincoteague is just about my favorite place on earth, and knowing we can call the Sunrise home while we are there just makes it even nicer. (I am almost tempted to not post this review as now more people will know about this place and it might be harder for us to get a room next time) :O)

We first visited Chincoteague in spring 2000 and booked at the Sunrise sight unseen, merely because it was inexpensive and the service was so friendly. Once there we realized this was a gem and we have been back three times (soon to be 4). The location is perfect for walking to mini golf, McDonald's and Skipper's. We awoke to roosters crowing as they strolled down the street. The pool is a haven, especially in 2003 when I hurt my back leaving Williamsburg. The Sunrise is never loud, never crowded and never dirty or ill-kept. (Last time we were there the room needed 2 lightbulbs and I fixed the toilet-paper holder myself. It's that kind of family sharing/caring kind of place.) This was the first place we ever stayed in Chincoteague and we have NO reason to seek any other place. Stay at the Sunrise.. just don't take our usual room when we're supposed to be there!

This is a appears to be a first class family operation. It is simple, clean, well locatated and mananged. The rates are excellent. The rates shown in review are not accurate. Call them for current rates.
