Hollowell's Motel, Atlantic Beach

We found this motel online strictly by price and did not know what to expect. Boy were we surprised! If you want everything to be modern and "Hiltonesque" you won't like it. It feels like home the staff is WONDERFUL and the price is HALF of other locations on the island. You can rent a 2 bedroom apt there for $150/night! Short walk to the beach, pool, kitchenettes, SUPERFRIENDLY staff. We have found our forever getaway! Thank you for having a family and budget friendly hotel and for being the great people you are.

I liked everything about Hollowell's. I have two daughters, ages 9 and 14. I promised to take them to the beach for a weekend. I had a limited budget but wanted somewhere clean and safe. I always worry about safety when we travel and Hollowell's was perfect. It was quiet in the evenings. Other residents were friendly. We felt right at home. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect with relaxing decor and convienent kitchenette. My daughters and I have found our getaway spot. We are already making plans to return. Thanks Mike and Staff, we will be returning at our next coastal visit.

Location, rates, staff were the best. Very clean. Not fancy, but had a very homelike atmosphere.

I didn't find this motel thru the internet, it was a "hands on" find. Our family was very pleased with the location and quaintness. Perfect beach get away. Although our visit was during the summer months, we were not crowded in. Access to sights and landmarks was great. Appreciate all the comforts. Efficent kitchenette, tub and shower. THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Absolutely no complaints (except we should have reserved the entire week,) no one wanted to leave!! Thanks Mike and staff. See you in September!!! Dickison

I love Hollowells because it a cozy setting. Its simply a beachy place to do a vacation. We love the owners and staff. Its the best motel in the USA.

I loved the atmosphere of this hotel, we had an awesome room that was clean and cold ( it was 92 degrees out) when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and really close to the beach. We will be staying here from now on!

I went there and from the outside it is very pretty with the landscape and shrubbery along the doorways. I loved the Lil kitchenette and made the best eggplant parmigiana in it buying from local farmers in the area. I have been coming to Atlantic Beach since i was 13 and now 33 i find that Hollowell's Motel to be the best spot in many years service and quality of it have made this my new port of call when i come to visit. Things i liked most were the cost and the closeness of many historical landmarks and downtown morehead city and Beaufort. The ease of access to beach and the lovely set up inside the rooms. I disliked the size of the shower but that was small compared to the comfort of the beds and quietness of the town at night. Plan on stopping there again in June.

Our room was very clean and even had a little kitchen which we were happy to use. The staff were always friendly. Great location! Only a few blocks from the beach! Nice pool as well. Only thing we didnt like was how tiny the shower is. The price was about half of what other places were charging. Great room and great price ! We will deffinately stay there next year.

I absolutely loved this place. The people were so friendly and prices were unbelievable. The rooms were clean, and the owner was super nice we had called a few others for rates and they just acted as if they were having a bad day and several were ridiculously high priced. This owner was always super friendly and was always happy to answer any question you had, and you could hear his voice smiling if that makes sense?! We went over Memorial Day and will be returning again soon and can't wait. There's a pool. It's close walking distance to the beach and restaurants and shopping. Grocery stores and the aquarium is only a short drive. I am so glad we found this place!

The moment I walked into the room I knew this was not going to be a good nights rest. The place had a terrible smell. The beds were wore out 10 years ago. The worst was seeing a hair on the pillow that did not belong to me. The shower is a very small old walk in that is very dark and dirty looking. I wore my flip flops in it. The kitchenette has the brown appliances from the 70's in there. Oh and the chairs were the fake leather with the nail heads from the 60s and the upholstery is splitting and dirty and the springs in the seat are wore out. Yes it has a pool and it is close to the beach but that is ALL it has. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!
