A Country Inn with real pizazz
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/06
I was reading Anne's story from Denver and in Woodfield's defense... I have to say that her experience was 2 years ago there are new owners now, in 2006. The new owners have done an INCREDIBLE renovation to the place. Each room looks and feels like you wish your home felt back home. And yes...there are phones in the rooms and there is internet hook-up. Trust me, I visit this place many times throughtout the year on business, and it is a necessity to be on the internet. I have had many business meetings here, and why not, when we can visit the pub in the evening then retire to our rooms when we're done. This is what it means to travel to home away from home. I really enjoy it. Let me also mention that it is 45 minutes from Asheville and 45 minutes from Greenville. It is very conveniently located in the mountains yet tucked away from the public. Kit-where business is always too far from home

Antebellum Southern Charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/04
The Woodfield Inn is beautiful, a charming manor surrounded by acres of lush forest and meadows in Flat Rock Forest. It is a wonderful bit of history, but!!!! Don't brng your lap top, and there are no phones in the room! Surprise to anyone who needs to do a little business- this is the old south! Plus, if you are a woman with big bags, you will need to haul them up the steps yourself- the staff is not that accomodating (for $150/night)- another surprise! Plus, all rooms share the same veranda (= loud, no privacy whatsoever), which is great if you either know everyone or there's no one else staying (but then it's really creepy)- the rooms are small and stuffy, there is a lot of hallway and outside noice, and personally, I would not go back! Go have an awesome brunch there, and tea on the veranda! The Business chick who goes to Flat Rock 5 times a year....
