A Find

The golf here is terrific. The mountain course was challenging, playable and the scenery (with views of the mountains) excellent. Staff was friendly and we found the service fine. Would recommend.

Disreputable owner.. Would not recommend this dump to a homeless person.

Maybe the staff are nicer in the summer...
By 1stIDVeteran, 03/27/09
Apparently not in the winter, though. Room was clean, and its a short drive to Windham. BUT: room was also decorated in 1965 and hasn't been touched since, given the quality of the rooms and breakfast, rates are WAY too high, and most importantly, staff is slow, uncaring, and downright incompetent. Won't be returning...wish I could take my money back. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

Amazing Find!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/07
The Christman's is a great value! We went in the summer time to play golf and just generally relax and were overall thrilled with our stay. They have 27 holes on the premises. An 18 hole mountain course that was well maintained and challenging, and a 9 hole practice course, that was fun as well. The rooms were not fancy, but were very clean and spacious and had everything that we needed. The food was what surprised us the most. Breakfast and Dinner were included in our rate (the golf package). For breakfast you get a menu and a pencil and check off everything you want right on the menu. I got rice crispies with a half a banana to start, then 2 eggs poached on toast, and finished it off with a stack of pancakes. Everything was fantastic. Dinner was equally satisfying, you get soup and salad (the house dressing was great) and then a choice of 4 entrees. I got the Chicken Marsaille the first night and then the Steak the second night and both were expertly cooked. There is also a small but clean pool and a clay tennis court on premises, both of which we used and enjoyed during our stay. Overall, I cannot recommend the Christman's Windham house highly enough. It was a great place and my girlfriend and I will be going back in the future without a doubt.

A Great Getaway For Families
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/05
I've been going to Christmans for years and will continue to do so. It is a wonderful place to take the family and get away from the everyday sensory overload. For the kids (and parents) there are hiking tails, fish feeding pond, pool, swingsets, and across the street a ping pong table, piano and more. For the parents, there is one of the most beautiful golf courses you could want, tennis court, and recently Christmans added a bar in the main house. As for the rooms, it depends one where you stay. The main house was redone and looks great while some on the other buildings, while older are nice. Lots of privacy. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was on about with roaches, but I've never seen them. The main sticking point with Christmans may be that it is not geared for 'instant' entertainment. It is very low key which made it attractive for my family. Kids need to see life outside of video games and TV.
