What a WONDERFUL place!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/11
I just recently stayed there with my wife and I have to say, it was money well spent. The prices are comparable to what you would expect to stay in the Hamptons, but The Inn at Quogue provides something different than any where else. Its a quaint, cozy little Inn that just makes you feel at home with its warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and courteous. They were able to point out local attractions and direct us to the private village beach. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated and they only operate out of the Main House now. I would definitely stay there again, it truly is the best kept secret of the Hamptons!!!

innatquogue-avoid it!
By pomp'sdaughter, 6/1/10
I made a res at the inn months in advance and was not told there would be a charge if i cancelled shortly after making the res (also months in advance). I cancelled after seeing many negative comments and asked for a full refund. I was told they would charge me $25 fee and refund the rest b/c their confirmation makes clear that there is a charge. In fact, there is nothing on the email confirmation about charges. In fact, the credit card company says there is no refund of any amount made on the day the inn said it was processed, now or at any time since. I have left 4 voice msgs and multiple emails but they failed to respond. I called the manager, Julie, who rudely blamed the credit card company then said it was my responsibility to figure it out!

1950's Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/07
Most of the rooms are the size of a postage stamp and more resemble a motel than an Inn. They are mismanaged and survive on their location to the Hamptons. Asked for soap twice before we got any. Paint peeling in the bathroom. Telephone didn't work. Everone who went to the same wedding complained about their misrepresenting themselves. Price was ridiculous for what you got. Not even a wash cloth with the towels. WARNING: Do not go there, you will be sorry.

Try to avoid this place
By Richard, 8/19/06
We have stayed here for many summers. Its never been a great place, but this year it was worse than usual. Here are some examples. 1. One morning at about 9 am a man starts walking into our room. He said he was coming to check the fire alarms. I told him to go away, but he persisted in entering the room. He finally left after my wife shouted at him. He had a master key. Later, when challenged about this, he identifed himself as a maintenance man rather than the manager he is. 2. On our first night, the staff did not turn on the airconditioner, so the room was 90 when we got in. 3. There are no "do not disturb" signs. 4. The maids never replaced the disposable plastic cups, so by the end of our stay, there were no cups in the room.

We can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/06
The Inn offers a lot of different things to the guests that are staying there such as beach passes, use of the pool, bikes, and a small breakfast. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back again.

Thoroughly UNIMPRESSED
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/06
I disliked EVERYTHING! There is nothing to do in Quogue. The staff and management were very rude. I waited 20 minutes to speak with some British man, who basically told me that the property is what it is and if I did not like it, I could stay elsewhere... The room smelled of mildew and there was mold growing on the walls and ceilings. Very dirty floors - who ever heard of tile floors in a HOTEL?! This place should be condemned, yet they charge an arm and a leg!

Overall thumbs down
By David, 8/29/05
My wife and I recently spent a weekend at this place. While the Inn is well-located, the service is beyond abysmal and absolutely unacceptable given the price ( $300/night at a minimum in the summer). The staff at the restaurant in particular has a Parisian-level of attitude. The rooms, while not bad (we were above the bar), do suffer from thin walls and loud noise until very late on saturday. From other reviews, it sounds like you want to stay in the main house vs. the cottages, which sound (and looked) like dumps. I would highly encourage anyone staying there to steer clear of the hotel unless absolutely necessary, and if you find yourself staying there to avoid the restaurant at all costs.

Dis-satisfied Bride
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/05
I spent last night in the most uncomfortable bed that could have possibly been offered. Cheryl, the manager who handled my block of rooms was not only rude to me, but also to many of my guests who booked over the past months. This has been a NIGHTMARE! My "suite"... if you want to call it that did not even have a shower. The water trickled out of a small, hand-held faucet. The noise from the bar kept us up most of the night. I'm at the local library using a computer because this place is so out-dated that I cannot even access the internet from my laptop. The pool has NO lifeguard, posing an issue of liability and it was filthy! A VERY unpleasant experience. To all the brides thinking of weddings in the Hamptons... KEEP AWAY from Quogue!!!!

Never to Return...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/05
While this quaint inn is only a five minute drive from the beach, that remains it's only (somewhat) redeeming quality. I had a terrible experience at the Inn at Quogue. My husband and I planned our weekend getaway a few months ago thinking that we had found a bargain. The service, if you can call it that, was atrocious. The room that we stayed in was in disrepair and quite filthy. The furnture (especially the wicker) was very dirty, to the point where it soiled my clothing. The overall conditions were deplorable, and the staff was exceedingly rude. Never again will I stay at this appalling dump.
