Airway Inn at LaGuardia, East Elmhurst

It was a great hotel, I stayed there a few nights. I paid for most of it with a free gift card that I got from ESPN. I think they're still giving them out at nflgiftcards.info, hurry before they run out!

STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE MICE AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My mother stayed here recently overnight during the snow storm because it was close to her job. The evening started out fine and the place appeared to be clean and reasonable for the price ($150 a night). However,in the middle of the night she hears some noise and looks over to see a mouse on the nightstand(yes a living breathing rodent). After she managed to compose herself from her disgust and disbelief she calls the front desk and the tell her she has to come down for another room key.If it wasn't a blizzard outside she would have left right then but if she wanted to they had plowed in her car as if to prevent escape! Shawn and Gillarmo at the front much be used to the rodent complaints because they spoke to her like they could care less Shaun tells her "Well they're plugging up all the holes..." Actually he seemed to think something was funny. She wasn't comped anything,no one apologized and management refused to speak with her that night,at check out the next still . My mother is still traumatized and having research this establishment I've now found out that they rent by the hour,and have had bed bugs. DO NOT STAY HERE!

My wife and I had the privilege of going to NY from down south to go to our son's "World Premier" movie entitled "Children of War" at the United Nations. We were looking for someplace close and reasonable. If you are looking for a $1000 a night place to stay then this is not it. But for way under $200 we got a clean, remodeled room with Italian marble bathroom (small but sufficient) and everything we needed for comfort ie: Flat screen tv, iron and board, small refrig, alarm clock and the list goes on and on. When we arrived at the airport we called them at the front desk and a hotel van picked us up with a few minutes free of charge and we had a very pleasant and helpful driver I might add. The desk clerks (we saw 4 different ones) all were friendly and helpful and treated us like royalty. We felt very safe in the location. For supper we walked about 100yds down the street and found a great Italian restaurant (Joeys Place) . White table cloths and all. It was only 4 and didn't open until 5pm (they are open for lunch) but they invited us in and happily served us anyway. The food was great and reasonable. Note: they fill your plate up so its almost impossible for one person to eat it all. There is a chinese restaurant almost next door but didn't look that great to us. Maybe if it was remodeled we may have taken a chance. There is also a deli with sandwiches 2 doors away from the restaurant but we weren't in the mood for sandwiches. If you don't mind a little walk, there is a McDonalds about 2-3 blocks away (easy walk) but I dislike McD's anywhere they're located. You can see the McD Arches from the hotel. To get to the UN in the city it costs about $25-30 by taxi depending on the time of day. Public transportation ( bus and train combo) is available for about 3-4 dollars a person for the same trip. All in all I can't think of anything that would have made our stay better especially for the price. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the airport and the free shuttle runs 24/7 but its not automatic, you have to call them when you arrive at the airport and let them know 15 minutes in advance when you are ready to leave. I read some reviews before we left and heard complaints about the shower water not being hot enough. It darn near scalded us! It's an older building (30years?) but completely updated. Has internet etc too available. I think you get the idea....I would recommend this place and will go back when I need to return to NY city area.

This hotel was great! My wife and I were driving by and decided to stop and look at a room. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised. The room had a large flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, duvet blanket and granite vanity. And the room rate for NYC was extremely reasonable. It didn't hurt that the staff was friendly as well. We will definitely be back.

FIRST OF ALL THIS PLACE OVERCHARGES THE CARD TO TOP THAT OFF THE SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE THE GUY THAT ATTENDED US WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, WE GOT THE RATE OF $124 AND CHARGED THE CARD $175.88, AND WE WERE QUOTED 99.00 ON THE PHONE , WHEN WE CONFRONTED THE MANAGER THEY SAID THEY HAVENT CHARGED US BUT THE CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED IMMEDIATELY SO DONT COME HERE

Dirty. Bed bugs. At least one made the trip home with me. My wife freaked out. After 2 am when I checked in, the clerk sold a room at hourly rates.

The hotel was convenient for our purposes - an overnight stay to catch a flight the next morning. Room was extremely small. Neighborhood wasn't great. My main complaint is that their website states that children under 17 stay free, but they charged me $20 ($10/child) extra person fees for my 2 kids aged 15 & 14. That's not free. For the size of the rooms it was way overpriced. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Too much renting by the hour. Renters come and go almost every hour during the nigthtime. Staff is not service orented. They do not go out of their way to accomodate their guests.

Planes were practically landing on the hotel. I didn't sleep at all. It was fairly clean, old, small bathrooms. It was close to the airport, too close for me!

The location of the hotel is amzing, as well as the shuttle service and the coutesy of the people working there. room service was prompt and satisfactory. The price is great for the area, considering the ease of transportation due to the location. Our room was clean, and the other couple staying in the hotel that we were with had no complaints either. the free interenet was very useful and the people working at the hotel were always coerteous and friendly. I will come back to this hotel next time i am in new york forsure!!
