my credit card was charged but no room
By Lynn G, 6/28/11
I phoned in a reservation, gave my credit card. The Mohican charged my card. When I arrived with my husband an small child, there was no room for me. Yes, it was 9 pm but I felt confident that our room was secure since I paid for the room. So there we were, late at night, no room. I was told that I'd have to return the next day to get a manager to refund my credit card. No coupon for a future stay or any real apology - be warned.

Absolutely loved it
By tamara, 8/12/10
I can't say enough about this place. The staff was fabulous, even the housekeeping crew were great. My husband and I went for a romantic weekend and we were estatic when we walked into our beauiful jacuzzi room. The pool was immaculate, and the hot tub even though it was a bit on the small side was immaculate as well. We reccommend this place to anyone and the price was the best around for Lake George

A good place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/10
We've been going to the Mohican for about 5 yrs now. We have 8 yr old and 3.5 yr old girls and they love the playground and both pools. The indoor pool was totally redone a couple of years ago. It's nice and clean. I'm a clean freak and I have personally witnessed their housekeepers laundering the bedspreads in between customers coming and going. They also have cloth shower curtains that are then laundered when you leave for the next person. Who does that? I think it's great to be so clean-oriented in a time when many motels are simply disgusting. The housekeepers for the most part are very good at what they do. (I've noticed a hair or two on the bathroom floor, but still...I'm very fussy). The owners have always seemed friendly to me. We ran into a little problem w/ the running water last year, & the owner called me personally to apologize and compensated us for the inconvenience, which I appreciated very much. In addition, it's right across the street from the only gym in town (Flex Appeal) which you can get a week's membership for $20 with a coupon. Every morning the Mohican has free coffee and tea in their lobby, and they have a computer to access if you need to check email. We've stayed in the 2 adjoining room w/ a kitchenette/ patio/picnic table for the past 3 years. This year we're going back to just the adjoining 2 rooms near the gazebo. Either way their prices are better than most other places in Lake George. All rooms include a small fridge plus a microwave. I didn't realize that not all motels/inns in LG don't provide this so it's great to save a little money and have breakfast in the room. True it's a couple of miles from the village but it's so close to the outlets and for us it's really not a problem at all. We like the Mohican.

Great Hospitality!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/09
The owners friendly, warm, welcoming attitude says it all. This is a place where you feel at home. Need an iron, spoon, towels you are accommodated by a big charming guy with a killer smile. He will also steer you in the right direction for food & fun. Loved it and so did my partner & 3 yr old granddaughter. The indoor pool is great for cool days.

Looking foward to come back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/08
We stayed at the mohican when my boys were younger. We enjoyed every bit about the hotel. The staff was friendly, rooms were always clean and refreshed with new sheets and towels everyday. We met a great couple who roomed next store with their little boy. They lived in Manhatten and recently moved back to Ireland. We still keep in touch. Mohican makes friendships happen.

Great Hotel Bad Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/07
Great Hotel, one of the cleanest I have ever stayed at. Both the indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi's were very clean, the rooms were spotless. The townhouses are a great idea, one bedroom upstairs and one down. The location is very close to the outlets and Great Escape, but they would not be a very pleasant walk, with the busy road that is right in front of the hotel especially if you have small children. I also would not be very comfortable crossing that road to take the trolley anywhere. I would never stay right in Lake George, there are some really scary accomadations there, so yes I would stay at the Mohican again.

Spectacular
By PamelaM, 11/13/06
I liked the fact the condo was very clean and well laid out, our bedroom was roomy and the bed heavenly and it had a large closet. The back window had a lovely view. The maids were accomodating and polite and they changed our sheets every 2 days and gave us some sheets that were in beautiful colors. The pool was very warm and the hot tub hot and bubbly. The only problem I noticed was the pool had two signs for the time it closed one said 10 pm the other 9pm and sometimes they were anxious to close it before the allotted time ended. The staff was pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful and courteous they made our stay quite exceptional and put no pressure on us each morning to get out of the room early for cleaning they let us leave at our own pace. I'd highly recommend them.

We would stay here again!
By Mark, 8/6/06
After checking the Lake George web site, the AAA guidebook, and the reviews on Yahoo!, I selected the Mohican for our recent 5 day stay in Lake George. Wtih 2 boys (ages 3 and 8), having a separate but adjoining bed room for them, as well as an in-rrom fridge are important factors in deciding where we stay on vacation. The Mohican offered the widest selection of room types, at a reasonable rate for the busy summer season. We chose a 2 floor townhouse unit which was the perfect set up for us! The unit was in great shape (furniture looked new) and traditional in style - think emerald green carpet, green / burgandy / beige stripe & florals curtains and bed spreads, and cherry woods. Beds were pretty comfortable - my only picky comment is the waterproof mattress pad made noise with every move you made! (but I understand the need for it!) The AC units located on each floor were quiet and efficient; the fridge worked well (even the freezer); both indoor and outdoor pools were clean and well maintained; and there were some newer video games in the game room that my 8 yr old gave the thumbs-up to. The in door pool was helpful on the one day we got completely rained out. The playground is small but nice and there were even folks using the grills one night. The coin operated dryers worked well too. The housekeeping staff did a great job both with the rooms and the grounds - everything was very clean and from what I saw fairly modern. The front desk staff had excellent recommendations for restaurants as well as a ton of menus to look over. You can't beat the location either - just off of Rt 87, north of Great Escape but south of Lake George village, its a very quick drive to almost anything you could want to do in the immediate area with out getting stuck in the village traffic. Despite being centrally located, it was a quiet stay with mostly families and older couples without children as guests.

overpriced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/06
owner at the desk was rude and curt, not friendly at all, made me uncomfortable. The price for the efficiency was quite high for the size and was very dated looking with paneling , old noisy ac's and it had a funny odor. The room was clean but had no shampoo, hair dryer, etc (we thought it said resort)!!
