fine family-owned motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/11
This motel comes in for a lot of bashing on the web sites that have reviews. I stayed there in 2010 and here's what I think. It reminds me of the motels you used to find in "resort" areas when I was growing up. It doesn't have reliable wireless wi-fi, it doesn't have the greatest window a/c unit. But it was clean and quiet. I don't fault the property so much as i do those who want everything to be shiny and new. It's close on the south side of Ithaca so you can go to the grocery store or Wal-Mart without too much trouble. There is a restaurant on-premises, but I did not eat there.

A Great Welcome Back To the Area
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/11
We first stayed here when our son was just a month old. The very courteous front desk staff put us in a section of the motel where we would neither disturb others if the baby was up in the night, nor would he be woken by other guests. It was a wonderful stay, and we have been back every time we've been in Ithaca since then. The rooms are clean, the housekeepers attentive to our needs, and the front-desk staff was very polite and reasonable. This most recent time, we were staying there while in transition as we relocated back to the area at the beginning of this month. As was true of all of our other stays, it was definitely a positive experience. If ever we need a place to stay, or have family or friends who do, we would definitely recommend this motel.

it served it purpose.........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/08
After reading a bunch of horrible reviews of this hotel on othe sites, i though, what did i get myself into?! well, it wasn't THAT bad. this hotel seems to be run by a bunch of elderly people who might not be as polished as a bunch of young execs running a 5 star hotel. this hotel is very basic and their descriptions of ammentities are a bit misleading. the pictures of the rooms with refrigerators, mircrowaves, coffee makers, etc. are ONLY in the rooms that you can UPGRADE to....in other words, pay more for stuff that you don't need. the upgraded rooms are in the NEWER building, which still seems dated. we stated in the motel part where you drive your car up to your room door. was the room dated--YES. but it was clean. one of the desk clerks, who by the way are a bunch of old women that are easily confused on how to check in or check out guests, described the room as "really cute". it WASN'T really cute, but it was adequate. the TINY bathroom had a toilet that we had to remove the lid from and jiggle the insides to get it to fill up after we flushed, we had to ask for shampoo, soap and cups...the lady who got it for us was very nice and friendly. the towels are NOT plush, but yellowed and thin from years of being bleached. they replaced the television set half way through our stay, NOT at our request, but the new one was nicer. the beds were firm and so were the pillows, comfortable. the curtains were falling off of the rods, but kept the room dark. NORMALLY i am a super picky person, i usually book the most posh hotel, but we came to Ithaca for the hiking and getting back to nature,so this hotel seemed appropriate for that back to basics mind-set, despite some of it's shortcomings. this hotel is very centrally located-- it was a very short walk to the downtown commons, across from 2 shopping plazas, close to tons of great restaurants, (try ZA ZA's CUCINA & WILLOW both excellent), very near great hikes/state parks, close to highways to take you to winerys, antique malls, swimming, country drives, etc. the town of ithaca is very artsy, feels safe and cute....... stay at the meadow court for the simple fact of just using the room to sleep in, not hanging out in or looking for upscale ammentities.....if you think that you need 24 hour front desk assistance (they lock up the front office, with nobody attending after hours), a swimming pool, fancy soaps and linens, & up to the minute decor---then stay someplace else, but if you can overlook the small imperfections and enjoy ithaca for what it has to offer..........this is a great place to save money!

Questionable staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/5/08
As I attempted the other night to place an order at a neighborhood donut shop, a night employee of the Inn was interfering with business while loudly berating one of the shop's female employees for having given a negative opinion to a customer who had asked about the Inn. The woman had said she hadn't been there herself in a while, but at that time found it dirty and messy. (The Inn has a connection to the Red Cross whereby it takes in homeless people sent by the agency.) He accused her of lying because "things change," and that might not be true now. I had difficulty placing an order because the two women employees were extremely upset and I couldn't be heard above his voice, while he wouldn't give up his place front and center at the counter. I don't know what the physical environment is at the Inn, but I would certainly avoid a place with such rude and abusive staff.

Dirty
By Linda, 11/14/06
The waste basket was full, the toilet smelled and there was a dirty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain rod. Can see why there were vans full of college students there. Don't go there.

We stay frequently
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/06
My wife and I stay here frequently. The place is not spotless but I have stayed in worse. The staff is not as professional as a large expensive chain but what we do have is real value for money. It's a great location, it's within walking distance to shopping and dining

Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/20/06
I can not belive the board of health and better business beareu have not shut this place down. I booked one night, checked in and went to a filthy room. When I complained to the night desk clerk I was asked what she wanted me to do about it. I left with out a refund and found another hotel.

GREAT VALUE!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/06
We attended a family reunion in Trumansburg recently and we rented four rooms at Meadow Court. The rooms were very clean and the property is well maintained. Meadow Court is close to shopping, eating, campus', etc. We could not be more pleased with our stay and the price made it a fantastic value. I would not hesitate to recommend Meadow Court. We actually had reservations at another motel in Ithaca and changed a couple of days prior to our arrival. We made the change based on some negative reviews the motel had. I am so glad we made the change.

Never Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/05
To begin the experience, our room that we had reserved was given to someone else before we arrived. They finally found us a room and it was filthy! We had to request soap, and don't even think about shampoo or even a coffee pot in the room. We booked for two nights and stayed one. After complaining and while waiting to leave the room, a woman came in who said she was one of the owners. When we explained the situation she seemed annoyed and said we should have never been given the room we were in!
